Why only one NC Hotlist

Why is there only one Hotlist for every unreal games ?

I think there should be a hot list for each game: one for UT2004, one for UT2003 and one for UT2003.

People who only own UT2004 don't care of maps for UT99 !

we have a hotlist archive and you can search for highly rated ut1 maps too with search function
we dont have enough reviews and not enough good maps to make multiple hotlists every month

OK, there may not be enough reviews to make mutilples hotlists.
But you could make hotlist fickler: 5 maps/month seems to strict.

The number of maps in the hotlist should change in function of the quality of the maps that you review.
Sometimes, hotlist could be bigger.

For exampe, I looked for ut2k4 deatmatch map in the NC Hotlist archives.
And I only found 7 ut2k4 deatmatch map + the one on one pack!
Is there no more deathmatch map which deserve to be in NC hotlist ?!

hotlists dont have a fixed size, their lenght depends on how many maps and reviews are avaible for that moment
and yes there are some more ut2 dm maps out there but the problem is they arent reviewed..and yes we could suddenly go review them all but thats not as easy as it sounds
need more and active reviewers for that, and the lesser maps should stil get a chance of getting a review too..
there are 10 000 maps and 3 or so reviewers

I suppose that reviewers don't write a review for each map map they test.
When they find a very good map, they could write only a few lines and put the map in the Hotlist.
I don't think that it will reduce chances of other maps of getting a full review.

you cant do that because people will get pissed off
some people like long, some short, cant only have short ones or even when you have the majority short already you run in to the danger of not taken serious anymore as reviewer and site
writing a review takes long, half an hour to a few hour so its not just about quickly play a map say what you think and go play next one..
maybe we could do another type of hotlist, a hotpick or so list where the admins and reviewers choose their favorite maps of period x regardless of reviews etc

Then if the author wanted a full review it's much less likely and more work to go back and give it a full review after there's already a "short" comment on it which might piss them off a bit (I prolly would )

-makes people take the site less serious, it becomes as any other site or forum where random people say random things where as now we have a rather unique market aspect of providing reviews by people who are asumed to know their stuff, creates level of trust and quality

The new list has to be an official list made by reviewers and admins. The only difference between this list and NC Hotlist is that, in this list, reviewers can pick map which haven't been reviewed. It could be the "recommended download list".
I really think that it would be useful to have a page which list every maps which deserve to be downloaded.
