Who am I Thanking...

What I mean is, Why do I celebrate Thanksgiving????
Of course I do enjoy being with freinds, family, and relatives, eating, joking, and socializing.
But, when I really think about it, Why am I celebrating....

Am I thanking the early settlers for finding this land?
Maybe, because they came over and claimed the land?
Maybe for the way they treated the indians...

Oh, Wait, I know.......
It's because they gave us reservations to live on...

Actually, I'm not the type of person who worries about things that happened in the past, I was just wondering why we celebrated Thanksgiving, or any other holiday for that matter.

Christmas = Presents
Easter = egg hunts
Halloween = candy
Thanksgiving = Food & Beer
Valentines = Jewelry, flowers, and candy

Thats about all a holiday means anymore.

You're referring to the genocide of the indigenous American tribes, correct? Where along the line were you bestowed with ownage of these tribes, these peoples? Are they really "your" peoples?
