Just a few weeks ago, I could count on racing against 6-to-8 folks every night. But now, every time I login, I'm the only one out there. What's the bleep is going on? I've been running laps by myself for at leat two weeks!

That's what $n][pErMan and I wondered Saturday night; we were the only ones for quite a while. He mentioned he was having power supply problems, so I said I never had a bad power supply. So guess what went bad:p My new case and power supply should be here tomorrow, so I should be able to play again soon:) I wondered where all the forum posters went as well:/

ive been checking out Red Orchestra the past few nights/weeks (getting too many keyboard bind layouts to remember them all  ) thank god unwheel uses very little binds. Reloaded Infiltration for UT as well.... forgot how fun that is. having online issues with it though.

i'll try and check for racers the next few nights though :)

LOL... never say never with computers because sure enough it turns around and bites you in the ass :( As for the poor turnout... I was disappointed. There was only about 3 of us at the burnout (and its ussually fully packed). Hopefully turnout will be better this saturday. As for myself... I have not been on much durring the week as it is the last 3 weeks of winter quarter for me and I have a ton of sh!t to do... so dont expect me to be around any more than ussual the next few weeks... but I should make the burnout so dont worry there. :) I've also had a horrid cold the last few days... so that does not help me get my work done either so I have even more to do now. :(

my bass player had a party, so guess where I was (snot slinging drunk  )
I'm on your server almost every night though. Must admitt, haven't seen you there in a while.
What's up with the false starts on your server lately? Seems like every other race I have to rejoin the server at the start.

We had some great races tonight... good amount of people :) ANyway.... as for the false starts... I htink its a game issue more than a server issue? Not sure. I'll be updating the server to the latest patch this weekend so that might help... ive noticed it only does it (that I have seen) about 25% of the time when you change from one map mode to another. If anyone has tricks to try and fix it let me know :p

My simple power supply problem grew:p After moving everything to the new case, the motherboard refused to work:( This, after I decided to upgrade only to the fastest cpu my board would support. Should have just bought a new board and cpu at the same time:/

Im guessing the problem was the motherboard all along and not the power supply. Unless the power supply really F'ed up and surged your motherboard when it died and fried a bunch of components :( I've seen it happen... but ussually on people who dont have good battery backups to protect them from lightning strikes and im assuming lightning had no part in this :p If you need any tech advise... feel free to ask as im pretty good with this stuff as its not only my hobby.. but my line of work outside of class ;)

I do know my Nvidia card kept generatinglow voltage error messages; sometimes one, sometimes so many you couldn't close them all.
Sounds like you pulled too many amps on the 12v rail and fried your power supply. Im assuming you have a high end video card that uses the molex connector for extra power. Id say nothing less than an 18A rating on the 12v rail. I acctually got a new PS that was rated 34A because mine was being stressed. The amp rating can be more important than the watt rating for high end machines. If none of this applies... thats just a wierd ass error :)

Hmm, yes, you were correct:/ Now I am wondering.... Here is what my supply says on the label+3.3v 28.0A; +5V 34.0A; +12V 14.0A; -5V 0.5A; -12V 0.8A; +5Vsb2.0A; 450W. I this one rated high enough? It is a Raid Max. My card is a WinFast A6600 GT TDH.

What are your FULL system specs?? I can't tell based souly on that. I need to know the motherboard... CPU... how many hard drives .. cd-roms ... etc ... even how many fans you have hooked up to the molex cables. From that I will be able to tell. But off hand. .. 14A rating on the 12v rail is pretty low (but then again it depends what you have hooked up and also your CPU). Also... if you have a program that came with your motherboard to measure voltage tell me what it reads on the 12v rail under decent load (all fans on 100%).. you can also do this with a voltmeter if you don't have a program to read it by checking the voltage of the molex connect with a voltmeter.
