One of the things people have said ever since XMP came out, Legend got canned by Atari, and support for the game was killed was speculation about how great it would be to have all of the original features intended for use in XMP had there been no time nor financial constraints for development. For example, there was a great wealth of conceptual art created for XMP (quick link to U2XMP concept page: http://www.u2xmp.com/content/concept_1.php ) and even the Vapor which were all never included in the released product.
Will FMI pick up where Legend left off and add things like a troop transport, that AAA-looking weapon, new player models, and other things?
