Hello,

I haven't downloaded Infiltration yet, but I was curious to see what netplay is like. I've been playing for Counter Strike for almost a year now and have become accustomed to it's gameplay.

I read in the manual that there are several modes of play, including a lot of things you can do offline. How good is the teamplay online? Are the maps pretty good? Is this a popular game?

Thanks,

Bosch.

Netplay is NICE.

I like to play with RA2 and without, I mostly play without though.

We still need more TeamPlay, *ahem*, I know, I'm not exactly helping. :D

Sometimes when you play with people you have played with alot it can be really nice, lots of GGs and n1s and so on and suddenly when it is only 1 left in each Team it can be a knife only on the bridge and so on, just for fun.

Thats what it is about, FUN. :D

hay guys this is a Newbe... stop this RA bull... thats for those in the community that have been here a while and start getting into little squables over mod's on Mod's

Hay great to see some more interest.

Infiltration is at the moment genreally an online game.
The only reason for this is that with the latest version 2.86 the bot's for offline play were finally tweeked... but unfortuently they were over tweeked... whoops...
You can still have heaps of fun offline, but online against real people is deffenatly where the fun is.

Infiltration Online is getting realy into the team work and communitcation style of gameing... You try and work with your team (if your new, stick on some nice guys butt and dont Shoot it)
and communicate with your team where you are (easier on some maps than others) and try and co-ordinate attacks etc etc etc...

Thier are many types of play with Infilration but the most often played is Team Death Match.... as yet we dont have missions (like many of Counter Strikes maps) but something is always in development with the Inf team....

The Maps hmm well most of them on the public servers are fantastic. in my point of veiw they dont allways have some of the best maps but its all taste, and often some of the new maps dont make it to the server lists right away...

Their is allways new maps turning up, and these are rated on their realisem and fun (but mostly realsiem) and the quality of these maps are always getting better and better.

At the moment their is a upriseing of smaller mod's onto this mod that tweek a little here and their the main one to turn up into the actual servers is RA...Real Aim created but Captain Obvious "Yurch"
its basically a massive Tweek that remodles the running rates and shooting acuacy and stamina... oh and also stops people from sprinting while aiming.. the Aim is to slow it down abit and make it more tacktical... (I hope Im right with all this Yurch... having only played it a few times and never reading your MASSIVE thread)

The Community as a whole are very freindly, and theirs alot of oppertunity to make freinds while playing online and team Killers dont usually last very long (yes there is a few but they are very rare right now) Their is also No known cheating happening, and most of each new version seems to be canceling out the buggs exploited by the last.. but I think we will see a large Step forward into the development of Inf with the newest version to be released shortly, as their isnt many bugs left to exploite..

after all this all I can say is down load it, and have heaps of fun...
and what ever you do dont get scared by No cross hairs and a slightly high learning curve... you will forget about it after a bit and just relax into the game... and you will probly never get used to all the tactics used and when you think you have, someone will try somthing different and take you out with out you knowing about it... and this will usually just make you want to find out how and do it to someone else... smiles.... or just find a counter to it

Hope to see you online soon...

Oh yeah and with you question is it popular?
It was voted in the Top 10 games you just arnt playing
this makes it popular, but still with only a small close knit community. but when you think about it, it means we havnt attracted the type of players that you just dont want to see screwing around team killing and cheating etc etc etc

Yes, you should download INF. If you are on broadband, download the current version. Version 2.87 should be released 'soon,' so if you are on a modem, wait for it to be released. INF is the best online gaming experience I have had. The community is probably the best you will find for a game. Playing takes a little getting used to, but don't get discouraged. You will get ahold of it quickly, and you will never go back to CS. Yes, if you are looking for more realism than vanilla INF offers, try AFA2, WhaleSharks, or any other server running RealAim (ra). Hope to see you online.:)

edit: whoa, I just noticed the dates...:p

Well that depends

on your connection. 56k or less I maight advise playing More On the LAN than online. I kept getting dropped and that was just to my friend on DSL like 6 miles away. however, I was able to connect once as a spectator and watch and what I saw was cool. LAN play is amazing. Levels are superb, weapons are almost flawless

I have a 56K and at first it was frustrating but you learn to play with the lag and not rely on twitch reflexes. Though its always good to complain about lag every once in a while expecially when your the highest scorer to remind everyone they are being beat by a HPB ;)
