Hehe what pisses me off is that when Labour came to power, they kept saying over and over "we'll NEVER raise taxes or introduce new ones". Of course people were HIGHLY suspicious, after all politicians are politicians. Still, they got to Westminster 'n all. Now they're trying to weasel all kinds of crap into UK life (some people don't call it a 'nanny state' for nothing).

I don't mind so much paying a few extra pence per game (it'll probably be soaked up by either retailers or distributors). What I do mind is that, going on Labour's past record, this'll lead to some other tax, which'll lead to another tax ad infinitum. Labour will then say "well you guys didn't mind the first one!" Grrrr.

I WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree with you! A few years ago there was a TV poll (and 3 hour programme to accompany it) on whether we should keep or lose the monarchy, and the vote was only just in favour of keeping them. I voted to lose them (and so did a lot of people in Scotland /~unreal/ubb/html/smile.gif )

I hate listening to Americans bitch about how their tax money is poorly spent. Here in the UK we pay one and a half times the amount for just about everything than you do in America. Basically we pay in pounds what you Americans pay in dollars.

tax and spend..thats their thing. 2nd...liberalism has done more to corrupt and ruin powerful big business, thereby weaken the economy and detrimenting the overall financial state of the country....ie, you dont reward failure and lack of achiement to try an make it "fair" for all. Baloney.
So I guess Im trying to see why you think voting "lib dem" would help that situation over there...I think it would make it worse for you....imho.

I voted Lib Dem because the Tories (Conservatives) clearly have no idea how to run the country, as shown by the amount of stuff they screwed up during their 18 years in power, and I just don't have a good feeling about Labour (even though they're doing sorta ok at the moment). The LD's just make sense with what they say.

Yeah they've always said they'd raise income tax to spend on stuff the country needs, which I think is better than the Tories trying to privatise everything in sight and Labour trying to turn the UK into a nanny state.

I probably sound like some political activist which I'm not. (I actually can't stand politics).

Well shoot...that's why we left in the first place! Trouble is our guys have taken a liking to spending our money too! (Consevative is the opposite here in the U.S.)
