Damn a pistol needing a scope?

What's the MOA on that thing?

Well, I haven't found any good ballistic data on the .454 but here is some comparrison data.

Check ou the bullet weight, muzzel velocity and muzzle energy!!!

    WOW!!

Caliber Weight Muzzle Velocity Muzzle energy
    357 MAGNUM 158 JHP 1235 F.P.S. 535 FT-LBS.
    44 MAGNUM 240 JHP 1180 F.P.S. 741 FT-LBS.

    45 LONG COLT 255LRN 860 F.P.S. 420 FT-LBS.

    454 CASULL 240 JHP 1875 F.P.S. 1884 FT-LBS.

Bullet weights will go up to 300grn in .454

They also make their Model 83 in the following calibers:

.357Mag, .45 Long Colt, .454 Cassul, .475, and yes 50AE. I think someone earlier mentioned that .50 was an auto caliber. Correct but revolvers can be made to spec.

I know there is no chance for this in game but what the hell.

Looking back along this thread I am a bit confused... I had thought that the team was definitely adding the MK23 SOCOM to the next release.

Is this not true? I hope not. I'd love to see it in game. Anyone know for sure.

Oh... and by the way...I think the .454 would be able to handle body armor...

.454 Cassul is not MilSpec, so we probably won't see it in the game

(I know neither is the DE, but it was in the game before the dedication to pure realism, so it will probably stay for nostalga sake)

    I know... I know

But you have to admit...it'd be fun...;)

I'll settle for something in .45ACP.

Colt Combat Commander 70 series with an NM barrel and matching bushing was my duty weapon (we could carry whatever we qualified on).

I chose it for one simple reason. If I ever pulled it, i wanted the other man down with my first shot...(230gr CorBon or 185gr Magsafe rounds ensure that.)

To those of you who have claimed that a .45 can be stopped by heavy clothing....

Come on over my house with your biggest parka... we can test your theory.

Hey C.E.R.T., do you have any cool pictures of dead Bangle tigers or African elephants?

I think we need a nice 1911 for nostalgia’s sake.

Can you say three shot burst?

How about a Beretta 93R for a side arm. Pull the front lever/foregrip down and you get controlled three shot bursts. Leave it up and you have a semiautomatic 9mm pistol. That barrel extension is a flash suppressor on some models I have seen.

Actually there is a reason why the 93r was dropped. Basically because it sucked. It was too hard to controll and unreliable.

If you'd want full auto in a pistol sized package i'd go for either a glock 18 or a steyr TMP.

The 93R is three shot burst, not full auto :p I thought about the Glock 18 as well, but, I did not find any good pictures of it :) I had not heard of the Steyr TMP...I am gonna go look for it :)

While we're on the pimping path and drooling over weapons that have no chance of ever getting in game, I'm gonna bring up the FN FortyNine.

    Droolage :D

Apologies for the stainless slide, I couldn't find the other picture of the black one.

jaunty, I read a review of the FourtyNine in one of the gun magazines. Their impression is that it's built like a tank, and should make a good duty weapon. Their only major complaint was the extremely heavy trigger pull (8-10lbs!) because of the way the striker fire systme works. Here's what FN's www site says about it...
FN’s Patented RSS (Repeatable Secure Striker) firing system takes a modern striker-fired systems to a new level. It gives you all the advantages of a modern striker-fired handgun with several added benefits. Many striker systems on the market today are, in essence, single action. They need to be recocked in order to fire again. With the RSS, a shooter can "restrike" a round that misfires – much like a conventional double-action. The RSS is also safer. The striker is completely at rest until the trigger is pulled. There are no springs pulling the trigger in the firing direction. This at-rest position greatly reduces the risk of accidental discharge

Overall the FourtyNine looks like a good sidearm.

No apology necessary...there are no pictures with a black slide because they only come with the stainless slide (I imagine you could blue or Parkerize the stainless one yourself)

To answer your first question, yurch.

    Caliber: .40 S&W or 9mm.
The trigger has a nice feature. You can strike the same cartridge twice in case it doesn't fire the first time. Whether you believe this is a good idea or not is a different subject entirely.

    To answer your second, CPR.

    Constant Pimping and Replying. :)

    Eh, I should, shouldn't I?

    ----

But I want something in .45, preferably very common. Easier to find ammo and harder to track.
