... when skinning? I know alot of people like to listen to music also while working. Now lately I've come to realise that music really affects me when I'm skinning. Or doing some other artsy things with photoshop.

So what do you like to listen to? What inspires you?

Me I'm a little special in that matter. I listened to somthing like Coheed and Cambria - Welcome Home while making skins like Bane, Alexia, LIV and latest Mithan.
Other music I like that inspires me, keeps me going:
    In Flames - Trigger
DJ Splash - My First Love
Dizzy Mizz Lizzy - Thorn In My Pride
    Young Buck - Bang Bang
    Rammstein - Feuer Frei
    Infected Mushroom - Dracul
White Stripes - Seven Nation Army
    Millencolin - Happiness For Dogs
    Drunkenmonkey - Calabria

And a few others too. Like the danish band "Magtens Korridorer" with their complete album "Friværdi".

I listen to various music when skinning, but mostly punkrock, techno, hardrock, soft music or real "old" stuff from 60`s/70`s

As you know, I can't skin, but music does influence and/or help my drawings.
My mind makes up little movies in my head to go along with he music, and sometimes completely new characters are born from it. For example, Blow Me Away by Breaking Benjamin helped create 3 very different characters. And another, Chop Suey! by SoaD helped create an uber attack for another group of characters.[/semi-ontopic]

I like to listen to drum n' bass, hard acid (techno, not rock) and industrial.

I think a lot of the skin ideas I get come from songs, (I have many more ideas than skins though) So far the end results have strayed off the origional thought due to learning new tricks in the process of making them, but here is a "short" list.

Morbid Angel - all their albums (angel of disease was gave way to my "current" WIP)
Obituary - all their stuff (Bullitory clicked in my mind during the early days of making Bledsoian)
Meshuggah - Probably my favorite band ever, each album sounds different and crazier than the last.. even techno fans may like them although they are metal.
Pantera - Hey you cant like metal without listening to them
Armani Death Machine - Only recently discovered these guys, talk about getting you amped !
    Down
    Damage Plan
    Crowbar
    - Half the songs give you goose bumps, very powerful songwriting even the lyrics can give you chills. They even have a few songs that will get you pumped up ("Its all in the Gravity" always helps me when I work out)
Acid Bath - A lot of softer stuff but with the most psychotic lyrics youve (well you probably couldn't think up)
    Hemlock
    Pissing Razors
    Death
    Nailbomb
    Soulfly
    Sepultura
    - Before the change up
    Frank Zappa
    Fear Factory
    - All their stuff, youve heard these guys if you gamed before.
    NIN
    Prodigy
Violent Work of Art - Cool band not very well known kind of industrial techno metal (from sweden I believe)
Slayer - All their stuff (although Slayer concerts are much better than listening to a cd) f***ing slayer ftw
    Alice In Chains
    Clutch
    Cannibal Corpse
    - used to be one of my favorites
Otep - shes one crazy chic, was kind of funny to see a chic from a metal band win the VH1 word rap battle thingy (no idea what they called it)
    Broken Hope
    Bile
    - only a couple of their songs though
Sound Garden - anything before that blow up the outside world cd

    + many many more

I think he likes Bryan todd better.
Or else he listen to 8 BIT music on his pre-historic "I NEED TO MAKE SURE MY BACKGROUND IS A SOLID COLOR OR ELSE I CAN'T DO CRAP!" computer.

    ;)

There has been a site offering great remixes of classic games soundtracks, but my bookmark stopped working so I got rid of it :(

Carmageddon 2 had some good Iron Maiden Tracks IMO and of course Duke`s Sound (Duke3D and Duke4ever) are great :)
Oh and not to forget Battle Arena Toshinden and X-Men Children of the Atom (Danger Room Music)
