What do you guys have set as your hotkey setup?

Hey guys I am new to UT 3, I bought the game slightly before the Titan expansion came out and I have really been enjoying it. I have been wondering what you guys have as your hotkey setup? I know it is best to set it to personal preference, however I would like to see what a few other people have set their hotkey setup to see if their are any commonalities as to how people play, as so I can set mine up to be more efficient. Thanks for the help as I am probably the worst player on these forums(for the time being;).)

I doubt that man, if you can do more than stand in a corner and spam you have Skold beat.

What do you mean by hotkey? control setup?

Good to know that I'm not the worst. Yes I did mean one's control setup.

Q=rox
Left Alt=Flak
F=Sniper
E=Shock
Mouse4=Link
V=Bio
CapsLock=Mini

Thanks, I was looking for something like this. I assume that rox means rocket launcher? Thanks, setting my hotkey setup around the WASD keys is what I have been theorizing would be fastest, and most efficient.

Interesting, setting the mouse wheel as a specific weapon, this is something I should perhaps consider.

I use the defaults too, with a few changes:
- CapsLock: Jump
- LeftShift: Crouch
- Middle Mouse: Best Weapon (usually RL or Flak)
- \: AVRiL
- SpaceBar: Use (enter vehicle)

'3' and '4' for Bio and Shock, and middlemouse combined with mousewheelup/down usually does the trick with the other weapons... ;)

It doesn't matter how you do it, but you should have a key for every weapon.
Set up something comfortable and then use it to the point you don't have to think about switching weaps. You'll never go back.

ESDF for movement.
W: Avril
Q: Hoverboard/Translocator
A: Horn :D
T: Shock
G: Flak
4: Sniper
Mouse 4 (thumb): Rocket Launcher
Shift: Use
Caps: FOV 80
Tab: FOV 100
Z: Crouch
B: Feign death
C: Titan
Mouse wheel up/down: Next/Previous Weapon

Everything else, default I think... :)

Sound advice, I will be sure to find some kind of a hotkey for every weapon.

im amazed :eek: of all the weird control setups here,
i thought my control setup was very common and thought most Unreal veterans where using it.

Code:
my control setup

       Q       = translocator
       E       = shield/hammer
       R       = minigun/stinger
       F       = shock gun
       X       = sniper/lighting gun
       C       = link gun
       Z       = bio rifle
    CAPS LOCK  = flak gun
   LEFT SHIFT  = rocker launcher
     CTRL      = crouch

      2        = enforcer
      3        = titan
      T        = team say
    ENTER      = talk
      G        = feign death
    MOUSE 4 = use (thumb button)
    MOUSE 5    = horn/3 person view/behind view           (thumb button)
    SCROLL <   = last weapon
    SCROLL >   = next weapon

(i got a logitech mx510 with 2 small rectangly thumb buttons)

WASD, space crouch, left-shift jump and mouse thumb (Mouse 4) for Translocator/Hoverboard. Otherwise somewhat retail sets. I use mouse scroll to switch weapons.

I once binded a mouse key for Impact Hammer goodness, but never really used it nor I never have noticed a need to bind my weapons otherwise...

Most binds posted here are useful, but you can play just as well with the retail things. Its not the binds but the player. Get familiar with the game itself and then mod the interface to suit your needs. :)

WASD for movement

1-impact
2-stinger
3-sniper
q-shock
e-rockets
f-flak
g-link
either of the buttons on side of mouse(deathadder)-enforcer

c-crouch
x-throw weapon

could be better, but i've been using that setup for over a year... and it works. bio i am pretty adept at switching to by going enforcer+mousewheel up. not like i need it though, i just abuse shock

Yea, I've heard about it too, but was wondering how to best handle secondary fire with that kind of setup...
