I've played guitar for many years (even so, I still suck) and I started playing piano at 5 (although I quit at 14 and hardly touched one since).
I used to build guitars too (still have lots of spare parts lying around, in fact I have an old Ibanez artist series neck I've been meaning to build something with)

Lately I've gotten into digital music, and have a copy of Acid and ReBirth.

Always wished I'd taken up drums though

Dont know if youre around to read this, but here goes.

We´v had our difrences, but fuck´em right now.

U have my condolences, and i wish u the best of luck.
I´ve been there 3 times now, so i know what it is, and that it hurt´s like hell.
I know that all people are telling u that it gets better, and that u probably cant see that it ever will at this moment.
But take it from a veteran, it does.

And buba...if u get realy depresed, then hang with youre best freinds, get some distance.
but not so much that u lose contact with earth.

And dope and alcohole only makes it worse, i had to learn that the hard way.

Best of luck.

Thanx Goat. I appreciate it. I will be around today but not after tomorrow. The wake is tomorrow and the funeral is the next day. I am not gonna be able to take that but I am forcing myself to go. This whole ordeal has left me very different. This girl meant everything to me,more than any of my family members and more than life itself, truthfully. She was a former girlfriend that I have known her since 1st grade. We were best friends for so long. She was only 18 years old and I am so full of rage I can't bare anything anymore.

Don't worry about substances,I have been totally sober for over 3 months by choice and I don't think they would help me now anyway. I honestly don't know what to do. I am so empty and hurt by this. I am trying not to be a selfish bitch as much as I can,but I really dont know what to do. I have really lost all will to survive and after the services I think I will feel worse. Sorry for going on and on,I have a tendency to do that. I won't bore you all anymore. Like I said,it has been great coming here and I learned a lot from all of you. I wish u all the best.

Okay. I played Violin for seven years. Haven't picked one up in a couple. I can play a little guitar. But my REAL passion is the DRUMS. I play the DRUMS in a band. We are very fast and it is hard work. Damn.

Drummers never get enough respect. We do the hardest part of the mix, physicly, and it takes mad skill too!

I have a TAMA set, 4 Toms, 1 Bass Drum. TAMA MAple Piccolo Snare.
I have Iron Cobra double bass pedals. Gibralter Rack. A Custom Zildian Ride. A custom Z. Crash. Sabian AA Crash and 6''Splash. Zildjian china high, and Zildjian hihats.

Drumming is an investment. Believe me.

huh...

that's an alright drum set, Mayhem. here's mine:

paper-wrapped marching drum = snare drum /infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
1 side tom
base drum
1 zildjian hihat
1 zildjian crash

that's it... my set's pretty pathetic /infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

guitar: 6 string Aria Acustic Guitar.

bass guitar: Fender 4 string bass

Piano: cheap-ass Casio CPS-300 /infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

I can play all those fairly well, although I can't say I 'mastered' any of those instruments /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

"my set's pretty pathetic"
No instrument is pathetic.

Hell my bass is a cheap ass Ibanez gtr70 (and i bought it used, but in good shape).
I dont even have a Contra bass, i have to lend it from a freind.
What matters is not how good u, or youre instrument is, its youre love for playing that counts.

I´ll urge anyone that loves music to take up playing. Even if u dont have any wish to become a profecional musision, its one of the most furfilling hobys u´ll ever have.

And funny things tend to happen.
I have a 2hour train and bus drive to school every day, and i have notised a funny thing.
When i carry my bass, people always contact me. I´ve had alot of fun and inlighten convasations that way.
But when i dont have my bass with me, people wont come near me.

Has anyone else notised this??

Nirvana Might be a bit too easy for his tastes. I guess if you wanted to get a little more modern Rockish you could do some staind, or Seven dust or even creed or somthing. Personally I am A black metal Kinda guy.

Ya know, Emperor, Cradle of Filth, Sacramentum, Marduk, Immortal, Mayhem,

And some Death metal, Angel Corpse, Cannibal Corpse, etc.

My drum set is descent. I want this one DW kit though, It has some sort of Crumpled Metal look to it. It looks phat.

Other than That, the TAMA StarClassics are Awesome. Also I like those Premiere Genista? kits.

I just put up my bands webpage Actually today.

If you want Check it out at HTTP://thrashmusic.cjb.net

It isn't quite complete yet because I don't have a digital camera or any descent recordings to upload, but it is pretty good. I made it. Check it out.
