    This is a kickass little local proxy that filters all banner ads out of IE, Mozilla and Opera.

    Works great, cuts down on load times a lot too, which is nice for 56k users.

    I tried it once and hated it. A lot of its ad detection is based on the dimensions of the image, and a lot of web sites use roughly the same dimensions for non-ad images.

    Hmm... wouldn't that filter out most (decent-sized*) sigs?

    *although that wouldn't do anything here. :p

    No, it doesnt filter any sigs, only advertising. I havent bothered to check how, but it works.
