Waves is an upcoming UDK game developed by Squid In A Box is a Geometry Wars-alike that simply looks incredible. If you don't believe me, watch the video below (and if you're curious, watch some of his older videos to see the progression he's made, QUITE impressive). I stumbled on this gem today, and it looks great, I have to say!

Additionally, the developer is saying if he gets 1000 followers by Monday, Dec. 6th he will release a playable version of the video posted here, immense volumes of awesome would ensue. Seeing as how he is only at 76 followers after we followed him, I think it's going to be tough to reach. But maybe with some exposure here we can get him a few more? Maybe? Possibly? What do you think of this game?

Well I've got a twitter but even though I don't use it, I'll follow for him.
And I'll try to get this published by Joystiq... Send a tip to Kotaku?

I don't quite get how the game works from watching the video... The graphics are pretty [and] interesting, though.

I saw this a long time ago and thought it was awesome. I am not a twit, so I can't twitter about it though.

Would love to see an upscrolling shooter made or some other old arcade style games get a revist as more then just a flash game.

    Also not on twitter.

Wonder if you can add your own music like AudioSurf and the likes.

I was blown away by early progress when this was first developed and progress shared on the udk forum. I'd be happy to support his work :)

by releasing it to the public anyways, its a much better exposure than 1000 followers, word of mouth and showing it off to friends is a much better way imo.

I agree. Hopefully an influx of new followers will change his mind. Going from less than 100 to over 1000 in a few days is bonkers, really.

Well, I think it's great that many things are possible with the UE3. Apparently this isn't exactly how everyone feels..

I think it goes to show that you can create many different kinds of games using UDK. Truly excellent work.

This looks great. I don't have a twitter account though. Should I register one just to support?

Yeah man, unless people are going to make Call of Duty 9: Purple Warfare, they should just not try to make anything at all.

We already have millions of game like this in Flash. This one looks better, but appears so simple that graphics are its ony advantage.
