I have an AMD k62 500mhz 128mb ram voodoo3 3000 pci. I am having some sort of major troubles here. I get 9 fps in U/T yes 9fps. No matter what res or settings it is at the highest I can get is 15 fps. I need help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. All 3dfx games seem to be slow, even the demos that come on the voodoo3 cd run slow. Please help!!!!!

Have you overclocked your card? 'cos it might have been damaged by it. I also had the same kind of prob but it was because windows had some how installed both V3 and Standard vga driver's. Once i unistalled the vga driver my V3 worked fine. You might want to check that.

Make sure you haven't got all the graphics settings on high cos it will take one ***** of a machine to run that!!

Ok, I've just benchmarked UT city intro with my K6-III 400@450.
I got an average of 43fps (running it 3 times)
I used a res. of 1024x768, highest quality textures & skins, no 3d sound & absolutely no tweaks.
I know the K6-III is a lot faster than the K6-2 but 9-15 fps is sick! Something is seriously wrong with your config or setup. You should at least get an average of 30fps with your machine.
My specs:
AMD K6-III 400@450 Mhz
128 MB PC-100
V3 3500TV (using latest 2000/3000 betas!)
SBLive 1024 (Latest May drivers)
EPoX EP-MVP3 G2

got nearly identical system:
k6II 450
voodoo III 3500
I get something like 37-39 (1024-768) fps but it depends on levels. resolution does not matter. CPU is bottleneck.
Best option: Throw out the amd. and buy a cheapo celeron. increase your fps fivefold.

I'm having the same problem with a K6-2/500 system.
Asus P5A
AMD K6-2/500
128 mb PC-100 Micron Ram
Matrox G100 AGP
Diamond Monster II Voodoo II PCI
Win98SE
All the latest drivers are installed. This system pulls 9 - 12 FPS in low res, low texture detail. Pathetic. These same video cards ran at 30-35 FPS in a K6-2/350 with the same Alladin V chipset and ram. I'm baffled. Is the K6-2/500 a piece of crap or what? I'm about to drop that same K6-2/350, mentioned earlier, into this system. I will publish the results here tomorrow.

OK, here are the results..........Yes folks, the K6-2/500 is a dog. After installing the K6-2/350 in this system, it pulled 28-32 FPS in UT 405 with the exact same settings and the same map (Deck16). I re-installed the 500 once more and it pulled 13-15 FPS with the same UT settings and map. AMD says this chip is 1/3 faster than a Celery 533. I don't think so......"Houston, we have a problem......."
