Well, we've spent quite a few hours with Digital Extremes' upcoming WarPath and have snapped about a dozen screenshots and have a bit of a hands-on preview for you. There's a suprising amount of content stuffed into this little value package (PC $19.99 and Xbox $29.99), so you'll want to have a look at what's in store. Look for a complete review in the near future.

I might actually get this for 20 bucks considering I never really did buy pariah(;)) and well I need something new to play right now. If it has a solid player base of 1500 people in the evening I will definitely buy it.

What's the movement like? Dodging? If no dodging, momentum bunny hopping? Or just plain old run and jump?

The three endings kinda sound interesting and the visuals look decent.

Looks nice, is it UE3 or 2.X ?? Just wondering if my graphics card will have any chance of running it.

2.x....don't think we'll be seeing any budget games with UE3 for quite a while :)

FYI - I'm testing with the following:

    - AMD 64 3200+ (939)
    - Geforce 7800 GT OC
    - 1 GB DDR 400 RAM

All game details maxed. No AA or AF.

The game runs very smooth and levels load very fast.

Those are some beautifully styled graphics... if this has proper bot support like UT then I am sold already.

No, shouldn't be. This game is from Digital Extremes which is not working on UT2007 at all.

Bots are in. (shame on you, Quake 4!) Expect them to play the gametypes similarly to the UT2004 bots.

Probably because the engine is now quite dated, 2007 so close one can taste it and because the community cottoned on to the fact that it's basically Pariah 2 and Pariah didn't do all that well.

    pretty much.

Based on the preview build, Warpath seems to be a very, very generic shooter with little personality of its own. Same can be said for a lot of the maps. They're all the standard industrial/sci-fi stuff that we've seen before. That said, it's probably worth it for the $19.99 you'll pay. Probably.

Total coincidence, I'd say. I took another shot closer to the same angle:

    This looks awesome =D

With all the military shooter clones out there; its nice to see some good sci-fi shooters. I love sci-fi shooters! Gonna definitly get this sci-fi shooter!

*lumbers off muttering something about sci-fi shooters*

Maybe the concept art for the maps was outsourced, and Epic and Digital Extremes have both hired the same concept artist!
