Ok this is the skin i´m finishing at the moment, made a new face cos the first one was a bit "ugly" :lol: , tryed to create a menacing female robotic face what do you guys think?

This skin will also have a shader in it of course to make that metal more realistic, and i´m also thinking adding some blinking lights but i don´t like it very much, 4 team colors and of course a bio that i dunno what the hell i´m gonna say:lol: .

Well i agree but i think that the lights give her a little more "life" no? anyway i removed the central orb thingy in the middle of the chest to bring her insides to life and try to make her a little more original. If you guys don´t like the different lights i can change them all to that blue like her eyes what do you think?

The main skin is nearly finished and she´s looking really good in game.

I have some problems that you guys might help, its like this i made the effect for the blades to look like energy blades with some opacity and a combiner, the thing is that in the character selection screen is all ok but ingame the combiner effect doesn´t show up, ny sugestions?:rolleyes:

make sure you are using the combiner in the shader for something... or make a final blend of the shader + the base texture for the entire skin. Also on the combiner try different masks, and different blending styles untill you get something that looks right.

Also has anyone tried shading for the opacity part can you shade the alpha channel (not 100% white or 100% black but say 50% grey ect...)

The problem is that everything looks good in UED and in the character screen IN GAME it works fine but when i go play a map there´s not even the shader there, no shader, no tex panner, no nothing just the plain texture. And no i´m not using any fallback materials yet, my graphic board is a 6600GT so no problem here with effects and other skins work so why the hell can´t this work damn it:mad: .

In the Final Blend i have a tex panner combined with a material sequence and the shader all working, wouldn´t this suposed to work in game or is there some settings i missed?

hmm yeah that sounds like a level or 2 too much for unreals final render pipeline to handle.

Often times heavily leveled effects like this will work fine in ued but not work at all in game.

Things like combining an ice texture with a tex panner alpha blended with a shader usually fail. last time I tried that the special effects areas just went black.

Yep:) thx

but why does it also work in the character screen, if the blending failed then it should show a white model or something cos i´m not using fallback textures yet to see if it works, tryed using them too with no luck.:(

Gonna redo everything maybe theres some bug i can´t see thx guys.;)

YES got it to work in game, it was a stupid line in the .upl file named "specular=1" or something.

Thx Continuum, what you said made me check the .upl file:rolleyes:

OK, now for team colors and voilá:D .

Ok the skins and team colors are all done but i have a problem regarding team colors for the head, the four body team colors work fine already in the Final Blend but the team colors for the head don´t show up at all, why?, i named them all correctly and doubled checked it, is there something i´m missing?:(

add TeamFace=1 to the .upl (enables teanskins for the face)
