If Hillary was such an awful candidate then why did Bernie lose to her?

because unlike the national election itself - which Trump continually claimed was "rigged" without any evidence - the DNC primary was demonstrably rigged in favor of Hillary. they actually worked against Bernie from within the party's own campaign and promotional and fundraising systems. all of their data informed them that Sanders was the better candidate to field and that he was fueling much greater enthusiasm than Clinton, but the old party leadership felt like they owed her the presidency. they fucked up.

Not what you said last month.

I still don't get why Bernie sanders sold out and endorsed her. If his support successfully won her the presidency he would be 83 next time he could reasonably have another kick at the can. The democratic party is in shambles now. What's his end game?

^you're doing it wrong. It is now time to sit back and enjoy the popcorn until Drumpf slips up so badly he can be impeached.

In the mean time your main parties need to fix whats wrong with them or a 3rd viable option should arise.

Been reading up on that O'Bannon guy. Mitt seems like the only sane trustable person in Drumpfs cabinet and he's the one wearing magic underwear!

It's true that the primary was rigged against Bernie. Rigged in that a large portion of the Democrat establishment was working against him. However, that's not why Bernie lost.

Bernie lost because he is not a real leader. He is only effective at regurgitating the leftist ideology he's been feeding off his entire life. Whenever an opportunity to lead presents itself, he fails the test. He let Black Lives Matter upstage him and take over his political rally. He refused to capitalize on Clinton's emails in the primary campaign. He could not organize any kind of coalition to make the primary race competitive. He completely sold out and backed someone that was the exact antithesis of everything he claimed to believe in.

So yes, please run him against Trump in four years. Perfect way to finally demolish the far left in America.

Anyways, I wouldn't expect those who have misjudged every aspect of this past election cycle to really have any valuable insights as to what happens after Trump becomes president. While Obama drove headfirst into the most controversial issue he could, I expect Trump to stick to his strengths at first. They'll put together a big infrastructure spending bill that will help him create a winning coalition in Congress going forward. We won't see serious work on things like immigration aside from some small executive orders until later. By that point he may have enough momentum that he'll be able to do whatever he wants. Which means you should expect Democrats to make up every excuse they can to not support the infrastructure bill.

    two different things, actually.
I was referring to the rules of the primary process which are written (of course) by the party. the Democrats like the Republicans are just a private social club. technically speaking. political parties are not enshrined in the Constitution. I was referring to the fact that what they did was perfectly legit in the sense that the DNC didn't do anything illegal and it wasn't shocking. they can do whatever they want. they're a private institution who supports public candidates.

it was wrong (ethically speaking) that they screwed Sanders, but it wasn't like they did anything wrong.
