Voodoo 3 3000 + Unreal

Win 98
256MB Ram
Voodoo 3 3000
64 PCI Sound Blaster
Motorola 56k modem
Network Card
Creative Labs DVD Encore 6x Decoder Card

I am unable to run Unreal, I receive an "Invalid Page Fault."

I am also unable to run Toca 2

Any Thoughts?

Well It's not the Voodoo. My system looks alot like yours -64 megs of ram and a dvd decoder card. It sounds like Mircoshaft Winblows has struk again. You might want to email the company that does Unreal (can't remember off the of my head) and see what they come up with.

I have now installed the latest patch for Unreal, and also replace the Direct X7 with Direct X7.0a. Unreal now loads at leats, but after about 4 minutes of playing, it locks my machine up allowing only a hard reset. Toca2 also did this but after some other drivers were installed, it works but without the rear view mirror.

its doing this because you need a fan blowing on your card...its overheating, mine did the same thing. i bought a fan and never had the problem again. you could also try unclocking the card and it would help im sure but then you'r losing performance. just buy a case fan for $10. the heatsink on my v3 was so hot i couldnt touch it.

I had a fan on the heatsink but Unreal still locked up yet Toca2 didn't. What I have done is underclocked the card with a utility program I found on the net. It now works fine or at least it is a lot longer before it crashes. I would like to know how to run the V3 3k at full speed though - before I buy a new card that actually works!
