Vehicles' paint schemes

Maybe this should go on the other forum, but I'll try it here first.

I noticed one little "undocumented feature" (don't call it a bug! ) with the vehicles' paint schemes. It seems that whenever you change your vehicle's scheme, you are the only person to see it. Not only that, but all the other vehicles of the same model will appear with the same scheme as yours.

For example, my favorite vehicle is the VW Beetle. On my settings I chose the one with the pink color scheme with big red hearts on it and the "call me" license plate. But everyone else sees me in the basic blue car instead. And now all the VWs have the pink scheme on my screen, not just mine.

Maybe this could be addressed by the next release? Just a thought.

Ps: Hey Snipe. Just to clarify something you were pulling my leg about last night - I don't just like racing. I prefer the racing and rally, but I don't particularly like kball, and I hate either kball or CTF with teams, specially when the teammates don't work together, and even more so when people keep on voting for the same map over and over again. We had that one team ctf map at every other round.

And anyone who thinks I'm being immature is a poopyhead!

Hummmm, I don't seem to have this problem. I see what ever skin the player chooses...
Check your settings and see if you have "force default skins" checked, or something like that. Me and stevenhorton were racing bugs the other day with diffrent skins. He had the blue bubbles, and I had the rassta....
Yep, the more I think about it, I'm sure I see people useing the same car, but with diffrent skins. It has to be in your settings somewhere.

Okay. Any idea where in the settings? I'm new at this, and haven't had much time to play with the settings, and I don't have my home pc on me right now (still at work........) Also, I'm pretty sure people aren't seeing my pink scheme. I've been using it since I started in the game, and have seen a few screen captures from other people where my car is blue (see http://forums.beyondunreal.com/showthread.php?t=153097 for example)

interesting.... i only saw you in the rasta bug the other night and that was the last paint scheme i choose for the bug (of course). but if you said you were in the pink one..... i only saw the rasta one (maybe that was someone else).that thing is awsome for going under and flipping people...heh

It is a bug we've been trying to resolve for ages without success . You will see the same skin you chose last on other player's vehicles, regardless of what they choose. Unless you choose your vehicle after them, in which case they will still have your previously used skin, but if you change your skin, you'll have your skin, but he'll have your old skin. To him, you will seem to have his current skin.

And how can you not enjoy KBall? It's like the most fun gametype around (I laugh myself stupid every time I play it online ).

Haha.. I can boost the number up for how many maps need to be played before the same one is played again if everyone thinks its a good idea. I also think racing mode is the best... but i also love the other modes too. I dont really hate any of the modes. The team modes are fun too.. IF you have the right people who know how to work as a team. Team KBall is a blast if you have the right people playing Acctually normal CTF mode is what hooked me on the game when I originally started playing. The only mode that bores me is roamer... but thats because I dont like driving all the way across the map for a node that gets taken before I get there anyway... id rather play rabbit!

yeah sniper i think we made a pretty good team on team kball the other night that one shot we made both pushing the ball together into the pocket on billiards was AWSOME wish i had a screen of it

Maybe if I get a good team I'll feel different about it. But so far every team game I played my teamates turned out to be a liability rather than an asset. Like on CTF for example. I have the enemy's flag, and I'm racing back to base. I see a teamate, and decide to stay next to my teamate, so they can block the other team's cars from taking the flag from me. This tactic hasn't worked for me, not even once. Every time I try it, my teamate will crash into me, take the flag, flip me over, then run away in some random direction. Same with Kball. I'll see the ball against a wall. Since I have a small manueverable car, I go against the wall, and start to push the ball along it and hopefully away from it. Then all my teamates with the big trucks that could serve as great defensive blocks will crash into the ball from all different directions, blocking it from moving, and quite frequently blocking me in place as well. Then all the enemy has to do is way while we start trying to detangle ourselves, the balls rolls away from us while we're still tangled-up, and the enemy scores an easy goal. Or I'll be pushing the ball in a straight line, trying to keep it in control. Then my teamate will come with their turbo power on, and knock the ball away from me, and they won't have control of it either.

Some people really don't get the concept of working in teams.

And as far as kball, I'm not too crazy about it because I find it very hard to really control the ball. I mean, I can knock it in hopefully the right direction, but as far as pushing and steering it around, it just seems very hard (specially when your teamates keep crashing into you )

We need to add voice commands, e.g.

"Block Enemies!"
"Don't take the flag!"
"I'm passing!"
"I'm open"
"Go go go!"
"Take out that centipede!"
"Be the goalie!"

and others that we'll think up later on.

I agree .. that was a badass game. That mode when played with the right people is so fun.

And as far as kball, I'm not too crazy about it because I find it very hard to really control the ball. I mean, I can knock it in hopefully the right direction, but as far as pushing and steering it around, it just seems very hard (specially when your teamates keep crashing into you )

I find the off road trucks are the best at controling / pushing in Kball... the smaller cars tend to just get in the way along with the huge trucks.
