I assume the same vehicle system that was used in ut2k4 will be used in ut2k7. Vehicles on the opposing team will be locked from you, unless they use it and exit it or get their head shot off before the vehicle explodes. One really cool little feature in ONS and other vehicle based gametypes is the ability frag players in vehicles before the vehicle explodes. I remember one of my coolest moments in ONS was when I got a headshot on someone in a scorpion driving straight towards me on purpose.
I hope they keep this in ut2k7. One other thing I'd like to see, inorder to bring even more skill and fun into vehicle gameplay, is for the majority of vehicles to have holes in them, big or small depending on what kind of vehicle it is(fast slow large small etc.) The hellbender would be cooler right now if the opening on top could be shot through. This would bring in a lot more skilled fun into vehicle-gametypes. Imagine riding on a teammates manta and jumping off onto a larger vehicle and getting a headshot on the pilot then hijacking it. That would be awesome. Plus vehicles shouldn't act as shields, like they do right now. They should be thought of as weapons or tools that give partial protection and will yield more protection if you use it a certain way. This will add more fun for the experienced players, because they will be rewarded for accuracy.
Again, the protection the vehicle gives the player should be proportional to the importance of the vehicle. The tank is of great importance so if it does have a weak area it should be very small so only an extremely skilled opponent can exploit the vehicle flaw.
