    take your time !
We (or at least I) can wait for a new UI if it means a better finished product.
    when it's done ;)

Yup. And they took a lot longer with a crappy interface. :D Gl on your other work, we'll still be cheering when you get back on it. ;)

Well, the current interface was made in less than 2 months, because they had a different one in a video made in August 2007. So it certainly didn't take very long to make :p

What our friendly Snake Eater (no offence solid snake ;) )is trying to do is make a better,PC friendly Menu/UI for UT3 which is more reminiscent of OldUT and it's UWindows UI.

Edit:Oh it's just you Mister Nice Pants. :p

So I uhm, actually decided to rewrite some portions of the UWindow2, and it actually became a rewrite! Anyways, what your looking at, is my first stab at a flexible CSS style rendering system. I had to keep in mind, about themes, and the longer I pondered on it, the more I realized that the current version of UWindow2 was simply not going to handle themes very well at all.

So the way you use this system is you first create a package in Unreal Editor with your themes name. You also have to create an object inside that package with the same name (it can be anything really). This is perfect since custom themes will probably want to have custom graphics too, so they can bundle it all up in one package.

Next you write an INI file that is UTYour Theme Name.ini. And inside there you can define new style sheets, or hook into predefined ones. Predefined ones are ones like 'body' which stand for the style of the Canvas (this is most likely going to change to Canvas instead of body. I just copied CSS).

    Heres an example of mine,

    Code:
    [body UW_StyleSheet]
    Ln=background:UWindowResource.MaterialInstance.Background

Themes can change on the fly with no reload, which is pretty neat if you ask me.

More to come as I develop it.

This just gets better and better and better.

Epic really should be paying you for this. Or at least make it the standard interface once it's done. :p

With CSS you mean cascading stylesheets?

Anyways, great work mate. Keep it up, I'll be sure to use this one once it's finished. :)

I registered here just to ask this simple question. Will all your work be overwritten if the consumer decides to patch their copy of UT3?
