UTU Survey

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

Done! I have fairly low-end hardware compared to what UT3 should be running on, but even with model and effects detail maxed, it still runs fine. I just have to make cuts elsewhere, but nowhere that makes the game look bad by any stretch. UE3's really quite an efficient engine.

It's the only way i could think of getting some kind of broad comparison as there are so many different variables.

cheers WaitForTheRain

You shouldn't add it together, thats not the true CPU speed. The True speed is still the speed of one core, it just has the option fto process at that speed 2 or 4 times.

Going by that i have 13.2GHz of CPU, which i don't.

Still i filled in as you wanted :)

Done.

I was a bit confused by the details part. I was assuming that "Flat out" meant at 100% since the other option was "around 100%".

Done.

It might have been interesting to see who was running 64-bit. You can only tell (guess) because I reported that I had more than 5GB RAM.

The other PC that I have that has UT3 installed does break this rule - it has 6GB but only 32-bit XP (go figure!)

This is to differentiate between some settings maxed and all maxed.

Yeh, I should have worded that one better :) I was trying to include all processors, single and multi core.

Damn forgot about that. That's a good idea for the next poll

Done and done. How long this poll will remain open?
A month or so. Depends on how long the submissions come in.

Thanks to all who have taken part so far.

Some interesting things are starting to emerge already. BU and PU haven't posted the news yet so these results may change but Nvidia are way ahead and Intel is kicking AMD's arse hard. Geforce 8 series is in the lead as well.

Remember this is just 24 hours and no major exposure.

hehe your scale didn't go low enogh almost at times. A question on internet connection speeds might be applicable also.

On a side note I like the layout of the site but not so much the graphics. Kinda Blah IMHO.

I play at 1600x1200 with a 100Hz refresh, but had to pick 1280x1024 in the survey. Not sure if that really makes a difference as the number of CRT users is likely pretty small.

Due to the very large performance differences between cpu type, for example a 3.2 Ghz Pent D and a 2.66 GHz C2D, that catagory is really needed. The cpu freq does not tell the true story on dual core cpu performance. The cpu type really defines the performance level more than freq..

I can't add things to the current survey but these are all good ideas for the next one.

I plan on having multiple themes so you'll be able to choose one you like.

There's so many different types and I wanted to keep the survey fairly simple and quick. As I said above there seems to be enough interest so I may put a more detailed one together in the future.

Thanks for the valuable feedback and for taking part.
