UT99 total conversion?

is anyone working on a UT99 total conversion mod for 2003/2004, or planning one for 2007? cuz , as good as the new games are, I really miss 99's weapons and characters. even the levels seemed better :hmm:

im sure the idea has come up before many times, but is there anyone who has gotten somewhere with this idea? just curious

Some guys are working on it, take a look here.

At the moment there are many UT(99) maps and skin remakes available ;)

I've planning about this idea too. But I called it 'Retro Unreal'
I can't begin by several problems.The biggest poblem is how to get Unreal1 models out from packages :instagib: ?
