UT3 Patch 2 Beta 1 Enters Private Testing

    The changes from the previous Patch 2 changelog are listed below:
    • Gameplay
      • Fix for unnecessary content staying in memory on seamless travel.
      • Fixed shaped charge node exploit.
    • UI
      • Fix for end of round scoreboard displaying extra "Player" bots.
      • Fixed leviathan deploy icon positioning.
    • Networking
      • Fixed package downloading not moving on to the next download method if it successfully downloads the file, but that file is not the version that the server is requesting.
      • Fixed client crash if the user disconnects while downloading a file during a seamless travel.
    • Mod Support
      • Merged ageia particle fixes.
    • Map Sepcific
      • Fixed CTF-Coret collision exploit.
      • Fixed kismet spawned key vehicles not showing on host minimap. Fixes tank showing on host minimap in VCTF-Kargo.
    • AI
      • Bots now can be fooled by feign death.
      • Sandstorm has more impact on bots being able to acquire/aim at enemies.
    With any luck, the patch will not be in testing long so we can get these many important fixes into the game as soon as possible!

    Another important note is that the WebAdmin package is now separate from the main patch file. They have apparently done this to allow more frequent fixes to that package.

    We'll keep you up to date on any new releases or if the patch goes public.

    Indeed very interesting, I wonder does invisibility also work with bots this time...

    i've just seen that entry in the previous log. does this mean that two bots fighting each other will not all of a sudden team up anymore and fight a human player first before fighting each other again?
    also, i'm wondering about bots confused by feign death. i've never used feign death before but i'm curious about this anyway.
    and i hope the improvements to the voice menu include a setting to disable auto taunts :mad:

    AFAIK in all UTs, the bots sees you but their accuracy is very poor when you have invisible on.

    They actually start to attack you once you shoot your gun.

    Yeah, they somewhat don't notice you, but if you fire your gun you've blown your cover. Of course, that's what a sensible player would do too. The bots can see too well still.

    Hmm, what level? At least godlike bots in UT start shooting at you as usually no matter do you have invisibility or not.

    Yes--but also if they "hear" your footfall. Godlike bots can "hear" the entire map so the only difference invisibility makes when playing on that level is that the bots get slightly poorer accuracy.

    -.- does this mean we cant blow up nodes with the shaped charge anymore? that's an exploit??

    How is that any more of an exploit than blowing a node with a redeemer? (I hope they actually mean cores not nodes)

    I kind of figured this meant it was still internal and not on servers. (and thus not available from some not-so-secret download link)
