UPaint (is in the retail version included) is good for a first start and to look which part in the char-graphic belongs to which part on the model

But I suggest to make the whole skinning part in JASC's Paint Shop Pro or Adobe's Photo Shop

Happy skinnin' and good luck ;)

Paintshop Pro is nice. It supports things like bump maps and layering and alpha channels. It's less expensive than Photoshop.

A lot of people like the GIMP (http://www.gimp.org/), and its FREE. I've not used it in several years. At the time it was alpha or early beta and was unstable, so I put my eggs in the Paintshop Pro basket, but the GIMP is supposed to have improved quite a bit. It's now on version 2.2.6, whereas when I tried it it was 0.8a or something like that.

At skincity you can dwl a skin with 3 mouse clicks and without registering. Of course there are many sites only providing links or with a need of registration, but on this site I`ve downloaded many, many skins *g*

no prob, glad that it works now :)

Here are the programms I use:
    for Paintjobs: Paintshop Pro 8
    for a quick look: Upaint
    for includance into game: UEdit
for char stats: notepad (but I`ve now gotten JaFo`s Botmanager, let`s see if it makes things easier :))
    for char-history: notepad

for voicepacks: goldwave/Uedit (Maybe I`ll get the voicapackager, would make things easier I suppose *g*)

Take also a look at this fine tutoriallist here

Hope I could help you :)

Yap, as cb said upaint is included with the retail (it`s in a folder named CD 6)

uedit should have been installed with the cd

A Trial-version of paintshop can be retrieved here

The Botmanager can be downloaded here

    hope this helped you ;)

The newest version of botmanager works fine (maybe compatibility mode must be set to win98 or 2000)

I made all the suits in paint shop pro and it worked out good, of course there are many graphic progs

adobe photoshop is also great (but recommented only to advanced users) and chimp is a freeware prog, which should be also great (I dunno, never tried it out)

    ;)
