I know I'm just spamming up the forum, but what the hell! Recently I happened to be visiting the "lvl" review site over on PlanetQuake and, as always when I happen by there, I checked out some of the recent featured maps on their front page. The screenshot for this one caught my eye, and being authored by Sock, whose Q3A mapping and texturing talents were no stranger to me, I took the time to download it and check it out. I know we're all about UT and its derivatives around here, but I found it interesting to see how far people can still push the old engine. It's now over five years old, just like UT, but author talent and great textures can still bring stunning visuals, and for the record, yes, it still runs like the clappers, even on my hoary old rig!
For those who can still lay a hand on their copy of Q3A, you could do far worse than to reinstall the game and check this level out. It's called "Pyramid of the Magician", and is currently still on the front page of lvl.
