Here are some screenshots using the Direct3D9 driver with the highest detail, on a GeForce 2 Mx 400 32MB. I'll give screenshots with a GeForce FX 5600 soon. For details on the Direct3D 9 driver and installation instructions refer to the last level on http://forums.beyondunreal.com/showthread.php?t=127344 .
All of this wouldn't have happened without Xabora who gave us all the D3D9Drv.dll. Thanks mate!

Those screenshots suck. Putting my Radeon 9800 card on max detail produces much better results and I'm not even using the DX9 dll.

    a Dx7-card running a game with Dx9.dll ?
    Isn't that something like putting racingstripes & a Ferrari-logo on a Beetle ?
What's the framerate like in those shots ?

Something about 2-10 frames per second.
That's why I'm waiting to get my FX5600.

May I remind you the screenshots were taken using a GeForce 2 MX.
Later, I will compare these shots to shots using a GeForce FX 5600.

FYI, the D3D9 renderer will come with the first patch. The guy who posted it probably just ripped it from the beta that's being tested atm.

And what were you hoping to show by running the D3D9 renderer on a DX7 card?

Way worse than these screenshots. Well, that could be because I used low detail and never tried full detail. But even with full detail, D3D9 performed BETTER on my machine rather than OpenGL and D3D8.
Stay tuned guys, soon D3D9 GFFX screenshots with complete AA will be given....

    I beg to differ

We are very friendly here on BuF. Flamers and Trollers are often immediately scorned for their behavior (I'm speaking mainly of the UT2k4 section, anyway). Give it some time, you'll see. Welcome to BuF.

I am currently using the D3D9 renderer, and it looks exactly the same as the D3D8 renderer at max settings. I think it's smoother with 9, but only maybe 5 frames per second. I don't think it's really anything to be excited about. Unless they're going to do what they did with UT99 (D3D8/OpenGL renderer with those fancy compressed textures) I don't see any real advantages to using the D3D9 renderer (other than maybe getting 5 more frames. Maybe.)

+5 FPS is good dude, you'll know that when the average is 20.

I already run the game maxed out at 1600x1200x32, 8xAA, 4XAF with the framerate never dipping below 50FPS. An extra 5 frames doesn't mean much. But if you can make the game look better than it already does you have my attention.

Why hasn't anyone asked for some before/after pics? The only results I've seen is a messed up damage magnifier powerup.
