UT04 not running, yet UT3 works fine

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

A few months ago I acquired the unreal deal from a friend on steam. I first installed ut3 and played it. Now one of my other friend wants me to play ut04 with him. I have installed it and everything but when I run it it gives me the following error message:

"UT2004 Build UT2004_Build_[2005-11-23_16.22]

OS: Windows NT 6.1 (Build: 7600)
CPU: GenuineIntel PentiumPro-class processor @ 2660 MHz with 4095MB RAM
Video: ATI Radeon HD 5570 (708)

Ran out of virtual memory. To prevent this condition, you must free up more space on your primary hard disk.

History: FMallocWindows::Malloc <- FMallocWindows::Realloc <- 00000000 1824751616 FArray <- FArray::Realloc <- 228093952*8 <- FUnrealfileSummary<< <- UCacheManager::ExportCacheMaps <- NewMaps <- UCacheManager::SaveNewPackages <- UCacheManager::InitCache <- UCacheManager::execInitCache <- (UT2K4GUIController Package.UT2K4GUIController @ Function XInterface.GUIController.InitializeController : 0165) <- UObject::execClassContext <- (UT2K4GUIController Package.UT2K4GUIController @ Function XInterface.GUIController.InitializeController : 0165) <- UObject::processEvent <- (UT2K4GUIController Package.UT2K4GUIController, Function XInterface.GUIController.InitializeController) <- UGameEngine::Init <- InitEngine <- FMallocWindows::Free
"

The thing is that my hard drive has almost 800gb of free space, so I see no problem. Can somebody please give me a suggestion as to what to do.

This looks like you have corrupted files in your package directories. It is trying to generate cache library entries for (custom) maps, but stumbles upon a map that is either damaged itself or relies on a damage package file. Bonus pack maps count as "custom" in this context.

Thanks so much, it seemed that I accidentally saved one of my UT3 maps in the UT04 folder. All I had to do was delete it.
