The official UnrealTournament site has relaunched, rolling all UnrealTournament sites into one design. There are loads of new pics, a one minute video, and shots and descriptions of all of the weapons and vehicles. So head on over and have a look.

After a long period of hibernation we have transformed this website to support three of the hottest PC products available; Unreal Tournament 2004, Unreal Tournament 2003 and Unreal Tournament. Our revised site layout is designed to provide easy to navigate and in-depth information to all users. We have two layout styles “Basic” and “Advanced”.

Basic mode is how you’ll see the site on your first visit, all of the content of the site is available to you, and it is neatly organized into several subsections. This layout is suggested for new users who want to learn more about the UT series. If that’s you – go ahead and explore…and catch up on what you’ve been missing!

Advanced mode is designed for the hardcore UT fan – you’re the guy (or girl!) who can make a headshot on a moving target on the far side of Plunge and can wall-walk around Antalus without ever touching the ground. In this mode, most content is available at the click of a mouse. Navigation pours down the page so that you can easily look into the tips and tricks that are available to you and keep your eye on any news or information posted by the developers or the publishers. Be sure to keep stopping by to see what’s up.
Looks like things are rolling along. Could the demo be soon?

"Characters
Players can select from up to 48 individualized characters, each with unique abilities and origins, to play as or against. Each character model is created with unprecedented detail utilizing high polygon counts and high resolution textures. "

I dunno if this is in ut2k3 already, but do the characters have special species stats or something.

unreal championship has an option for this, but it was left out of 2003.

i didn't really like it personally, but it was a nice change of pace.

2302 The gene-boosted monster - Gorge - defeats Malcolm in a brutal contest and is named champion of the Tournament. The aging Sniper Rifle (a relic of centuries past) is removed from the Tournament as is "Assault" - a team-based event that forms a part of the competition. Many fans of the Tournament complain at these changes, with some combatants refusing to participate in the new format.

Lol. :D

Yup I'm glad that storyline was dropped too. Unfortunately this meant that there was no storyline or background info at all, but this is probably preferable to the story that was alluded to on the UT2003 website. The new storyline seems shibby enough, but it takes away from the feeling that it was the player him/herself who conquered the Tournament: they replace your character with Malcolm or Gorge for continuity. Oh well, other than that it's a fair background story and restores the much-needed Unreal atmosphere.
