Hey, I have rejoined the Unreal community after a very long time. I got Unreal Gold from ebay about a year ago and I started playing it again yesterday. I noticed that sometimes, the game skips around alot, especially in outdoor areas. This makes it rather difficult to enjoy playing. I have downloaded the 227 patch cause I thought that might help. Any suggestions or help would be wonderful. Thanks alot. I'm really looking forward to being active in the Unreal community :) Oh, one last bit: the 227 patch does not let me play Return To Na Pali. Does anyone know when they'll finish the 227 patch or if they're gonna?
Thanks so much.

Thanks alot:D. I'll try some of this stuff. Hopefully it'll work for me. I have another quick question... How is the Unreal community now?

It's still living. If you care about SP you should go to either OldUnreal or UnrealSP. 227 still doesn't support RTNP for now, but later.

if you have a multi-core cpu, you have to set the affinity to one core.
call up the task manager, right click on unreal, set affinity, untick all cores but one.

This is best done when restarting unreal at the vidcard setup screen, just go into options/preferences, and hit change (video driver) this will restart the game to the setup screen, ctrl/alt/del to get to the task manager.

You have to do it at the setup screen as Unreal has algorithms that set its running speed ingame, if this is done ingame, it screws that up, the game may run slow (or maybe fast) when the change is done, it as to restart to set that internal speed setting.
Unreal not set for multi-cores.

Not always. I never had to do that in Unreal, despite the fact that I've played it on around 5 different computers, all of which were multicore. Installing the enhanced renderers and setting a framerate limit or enabling VSync is sufficient.

Thanks alot for the input. I'm not very technical AT ALL XD, so I'm gonna try the simpler stuff first and if that doesn't work (or has wierd side effects :D) I'll get more involved. Again, thanks for the help.
Nice to see first hand that the community is indeed alive :D
