Unreal Patch 226a Beta Found!

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

Hello Everyone,

While surfing yesterday, ran across a link at 3dcolony.com to another site that has this patch available for download! Don't know much about it, but I downloaded it, scanned for viruses (none found), and patched Unreal with success!

I've only played around with it last night for a few minutes, but what I found was amazing!!! No more stuttering, very smooth textures on my Viper V770 Ultra under D3D. More playing is needed, but this is such a vast improvement over 224f that it warrants your full attention! There are complete release notes and readme files included, and it seems to me to be the genuine article. Apparantly A3D 2.0 and EA sound have improved/added, and the files state the D3D code was completely rewritten and many improvements (especially in texture management) were made! WOW!!!!!

Understand that it's a beta. Everything looked OK during patch install (Epic screen and all), and so far works VERY WELL!

Use caution when playing on servers repeating maps! I had the beta, but everytime I went to respawn back into the server my old charecter and ping did not disappear so there was two of me and 2 pings!

I just reloaded the patch, and I noticed some texture problems in certain maps. Although it runs smoother the textures not running right could affect the game in general! So be careful using it..
