Pretty sweet, huh?

So, we have a new 2 footed creature and a flying vehicle. I wonder if/how they fit in to U2.

The detail was very nice, right down to reflected sky in the pools of water. Love it.

It's just a tech demo of the current engine features, not footage of Unreal II.

That's true, Y5. Notice I said how/if to my reply.

One thing I thought about the tech-demo was this:

They obviously took some time to get the demo together. I suspect that some of the stuff we see in that will make it's way into the next game. The fact that they showed a vehicle was interesting. (Though, UT features a vehicle in it's intro and there are no moving vehicles in UT) The creature clearly took some time to model...wouldn't it make sense that they would use a model that was already available? (i.e. planned for the game)

Still, it was fun to watch. :)

New Unreal Tech Footage - hal_PuF
3/28/01 4:16 PST - Games in Development (Want first post? Discuss!)
The boys over at Gamespot have grabbed some more Unreal Technology footage: Movies 2 and 3 in their collection.

Movie 2 shows a fly-by of some twisted trees in a swamp. The trees appear to be individually modeled and you can see some nice water effects too. It's available in a zipped WinMedia pack of 9.8MB and a RealMedia pack of 10.1MB.

Movie 3 consists of some close-ups and a fly-by of the big, yellow bulldozer seen in previous pics. It shows of the incredible level of detail the engine is capable of. More interestingly, is the time spent showing the Unreal Warfare Editor at work. You can see some great map-making in progress. It's available in a zipped WinMedia pack of 14.8MB and a RealMedia pack of 15.2MB.
