Hey guys. I've been having some problems with Unreal II lately. The game runs like it's in slomo and then the screen rotates on it's own. The 227 patch fixed Unreal. UT99 is fixed also, thanks to the Dual Core Fix. I also have the same problem with the Deus Ex demo. Is there anyway I can fix this? Please reply. Thanks.

Well usually it does to me when my laptop overheats, but you can get some other dual core fixes and stuff, which largely fix it unless it's overheating. If so you might try to change the mode if you play it on laptop, but no guarantee it will help, my baterry is gone and i am usingonly power supply for some time.

The problem is the dual core and quad core structure and the fact that widows dont support it well enough, also the unreal engine is sort of clock based, so it makes sense it slows down like that. They never have thought something like dual core would come out so you can't blame them.

My video card is a NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT.

It doesn't matter what video card, it isn't a fix for videocard, it's the processor what it's about but it works with other processors too, so definitely try and get it, personally it helped me a lot in past.

As a quick test you can set the affinity of a process by setting the affinity of explorer.exe before you launch it (all processes inherit the affinity of the process which started them):

Before you launch the game press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC, click the processes tab, right click explorer.exe and choose "Set Affinity...", uncheck all but CPU0 and then try running the game.

If it works fine then you can use one of the methods listed above to set the affinity automatically, if it doesn't then you know it's something else (power management or whatever).

Is the PC a laptop?

If none of the advices help, then your battery might be going unstable or dying. Happened to me like that.

You mean Direct3D10? It doesn't work on my UT99 game. I'm just wondering, is it only compatible on Vista?
