OK first my rig,http://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/asus-g73jh-rbbx05/4505-3121_7-34041745.html. Now i have windows 7 and we all know the trick to get more fps in servers. Change mindesired fps to something u can handle and bind a netspeed key has to be over 10000. My problem is that for some reason it doesnt work. I have a bad feeling its something in windows 7. I have tryed other peoples user ini and/or ut2004 ini but to no avail. Also I have checked my netspeed(f6) in ut, and it is at 15000. Everyone i have talked to cant seem to figure out what the problem is. Pease help I love this game and its impossible for me at 85 fps, looks like im snapshooting. Anyways any help would be amazing. Thanks again

Well, let's see. You have a netspeed of 15000, and let's assume the server has a tickrate of 30. That means you have 15000/64=243FPS maximum. That also means you're allowed to receive 15000/30=500 bytes per tick. However, that means that the packet size you're getting will be 512 bytes, which is roughly 4.5 times slower than packets of 32 bytes. That means you're probably going to get too many anomalies due to a too high bandwidth anyway. If you want a good FPS that even a sensitive person like you would find sufficient, you should set your max FPS to 60*2=120FPS, which then means 120*64=7680. Round that up and you'll see that to have fluid FPS, you need a netspeed of only 7680! Now if you look at the packet size, you'll see it has dropped to 256, just enough to fit to a 256 byte packet on a 30 tickrate server. That means you'll save yourself bandwidth, you'll get packets more often, you'll save the server more bandwidth, and that could even solve your FPS problem.
tl;dr: set your netspeed to 7680 and don't look back.

What is it with the framerate craze? I never ever felt the need to artificially increase the framerate beyond what the monitor can actually display.

Played much Quake 3?
Certain moves can only be achieved with a FPS of 125+ regardless of what your monitor can display.

iirc 2k4 is capped at 85 FPS by default & it certainly feels smoother at 125 [to me] in the same way that increasing USB polling to 1000 makes my mouse feel smoother & more responsive [to me]

125+ FPS in the Quake engine triggered buggy physics calculations. The Unreal Engine doesn't have that kind of "advantageous bugs". Like GreatEmerald already said: higher framerates cause more network traffic.

If you constantly watch the numbers (FPS, ping), you will subconsciously associate better numbers with better "feel", even though the effects might actually be negligible.

Sry that netspeed did not increase the frame rate to 120. Secondly if netspeed limits frame rates then stock netspeed for cable internet in ut is 10,000 so if default frames is 85 at 7860 wouldnt the frames go lower? Anyways i did some reverse stuff, i gave my ini to my friend and he got my desired 150 frames with my ini. This tells me its something in windows 7 that is limiting netspeed, but im willing to try anything u guys want to toss at me. Thx again:shock::shock:

If UT2004 is limiting it to 85 then anything over netspeed 5500 is not optimal (indeed, 5500 is the optimal all-around netspeed for UT1). Higher netspeeds generally just make the server decide unimportant things for you and create lag spikes.

Ok but do u agree that with my ini in someone else's game then something other that UT is stoping an increase in netspeed?

Indeed, for the most part you're just increasing traffic.
It's more for playing 1v1 on servers [or LAN] with a much faster tickrate that can handle it.
