Unable to turn via mouse in UT3?

So I just downloaded the gift/demo via steam today, and noticed that I cannot turn via my mouse.. I have tried various sensitivities from 11 - 9999, and turned off mouse smoothing, and unchecked enable gamepad. I'm drawing a blank here as to how to fix this problem. Anyone care to shed some light on this?

Tried the "Restore Defaults" button in the control setup page?

I don't know how steam UT3 Black works (where it installs the files) but try to find the following files on your computer and delete them, the game should recreate them from the default files. Do not delete the default files, they have the prefix "Default" instead of "UT"

  • UTInput.ini
  • UTGame.ini
  • UTEngine.ini

These files for a non-Steam install are located in
X:\My Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Config
so you can start by looking there to see if they are in the same place for a Steam install...

Unfortunately, deleting the files you specified didn't work. I had already tried the 'reset to default' option, but for good measure I tried again, and it still didn't work. Any other ideas? Thanks for the response, btw. =)

Really strange. What kind of mouse do you have? Do you use any special software with it? Have you ever had mouselook problems in other games?

I have a Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 5000. While I'm not primarily a PC gamer, the few games I've played for PC such as Bioshock, Team Fortress 2, etc. have all worked just fine. I've already made sure I have the updated drivers for my mouse as well.

Perhaps there's a way to bind turning to the movement of your mouse?

For the record: This is usually related to the different mouse sensitivity scales used in UT3 v1.0 and later versions. Sometimes the value isn't upgraded to the new scale properly, causing mouse movement to have almost no visible effect at all. The default value is 2500 for later UT3 versions, IIRC. Just setting it in Settings -> Input should fix the problem.
