Server Selection
The minimum amount of bandwidth that a server hosting a match is 1mbps/1mbps (This means symmetrical, 1 megabit upstream and downstream). No Cable Modem, ADSL, ISDN, or LAN servers, the only exception to this are if both captains agree. Captains be warned: after both teams have clicked in, you have made your choice. IGL recommends T1 servers as a minimum. Both teams should offer at least 1 server preferably 2, 24 hour before the match to help cut down on delays. IGL has a limited number of servers available to reserve for matches, however it is best to contact a ladder admin 3-4 days in advance of a match to request one.
Ping Disputes
We believe that a 40 ms team difference is acceptable; we will allow you to make a choice to play out of that range.
Situations
1. If both teams have servers, have offered servers and cannot agree where to play, they can choose to split maps between servers however, if a tiebreaker has to be played, the server will be chosen by the challenged team. In the event that the server offered by the challenged team does not comply with established IGL guidelines for fair play, a split server match may be played, with the tiebreaking map consisting of ten minutes in both servers.
