U2 editing will be a little more hardworking

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

With real world physics, much more detailed animations and better support to make large scale maps, editing will take a little more time since u can improve lots of new things.

I expect that making large outdoor maps will be rather easy with heightmaps and automatic texturizing. Put and tree or a rock here and there and you are basically done. ;)

But making indoor scenes with such high polycounts will be very work-intensive. Working with pre-fabs will probably become a must.

I hope so

I hope Epic release the new ED 2.6 with some prefabs and prefab scripts, like real fogs affected by wind, water waves and such things. Thanks to Tarquin with his new brushes.

Epic are going to make prefabs the norm

I remember reading somewhere that prefabs will be part of the U2 editing system such a doorway (with door) can be "plonked" down and work pretty much straight away.

Where?

U2 and Uw will be comming with a new ED.

Some lazy things about editing:

-Pan textures and aligment
-Lack of "autos"
-ED doesn´t come with help files and doesn´t suggest tips if it could auto detect problems in ur map.
