    Hi Guyz...
I'd like to know ur opinion about the XMP command 'TOGGLEBEHINDVIEW' that may be used during a match ( may be an official CW ) to make things like CJumping...
Should it be considered a cheating and forbidden...? What is the community opinion...?

It is there, and never will be fixed, therefore it's going to be a part of common gaming no matter what your stance on it is. It's better to just accept it as part of the game, and not a "bug" or a "glitch" or a "cheat" or an "exploit" ..

I think it's some kind of cheat.
people us it to avoid the blinding of conc nade.
Why conc nade is made is to blind everything near.

When you caught on fire, you got partially blinded. People then use behindview to avoid.

The game is as it is..... outside of writing new code I dont' think we can call anything that is possable in the game a cheat. As long as eveyone knows about it it keeps the game fair anyway.

so you think cheat code isn't a cheat?
it doesn't need an external code or sort

well sticky one there.... in a normal game I would say yeah it is if your using it and no one else is, bout ofr games with cheat codes I'm a fan of punkbuster.

But XMP is special.. its developed as far as it will go... so I think we have to accept the "glitches" as part of the game.

CJing is not an exploit. They tell you how to do it in the readme documentation. There are also many guides to be found on it in many places, and virtually everyone who plays.. short of a day or few old newbie.. knows about it. It would be an exploit if only a select people knew about it and utilized it in game to get an unfair advantage. However since everyone knows about it, it's not an unfair advantage - just another trick to pull. It can be duplicated with ease, and countered with ease. Everyone remains equal. It all boils down to skill with it. Anyone can snipe a gunner flying through midair alot easier than they can snipe one who's hopping around and dodging, since it's harder to change direction in midair. One can say that jumping out of raptors after falling from Alcazar bridge and surviving is an exploit, because the laws of physics and more specifically.. Newton's First Law. Stating: "An object at rest tends to stay at rest and an object in motion tends to stay in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force" One could argue that the jetpack is the unbalanced force acting upon the downward acceleration of the car but given the standards of the game, the car was falling as fast as if you'd be falling without being in the car. If you jumpjet at the bottom of a freefall, you die regardless due to your momentum. The car should act the same way. Same momentum, same fall distance, same speed.. yet somehow it allows you to live if done properly. That is not viewed as an exploit.. yet it's something that "shouldn't" be there. Likewise, everybody knows about it - and does it. Therefore everyone remains equal on the field. Maybe I'm way off base, but cheats and exploits are unbalancing factors in the game. CJing does not unbalance it in any way that I have yet to see anyway.

What??? You mean people actually read those?

But ya I agree... it tells you how to do it in the readme which means the devs wanted people to know how to do it. Seems to me the people who whine about it the most don't play gunners...

Besides if you're using the "balance" excuse...

Yes a gunner is SLOW and this makes him travel a little faster... but it also damages us and takes away from our advantage of having more shield energy... so there's your balance. :D

Oh.. and if you've done it before... youdon't always get away from the blindness...
I also think some people think that if you get hit with a C-nade and then hit your toggleview button you're not blind anymore... which is quite untrue :)

Ok, so maybe I read it wrong..

    5.3 Concussion jumping
    ----------------------

There's a reason why the bulk of the combatants in XMP stay reasonably close to
the ground: that's where all the action is. But if you want to get a bird's
eye view of the action, you can try something that's pretty risky: Concussion
    jumping.

Just fire a concussion grenade at your feet, and jump when it explodes. You'll
probably be a little woozy, a little blind, and a lot hurt, but it's possible.

They didn't mention the togglebehindview, oops, but either way.. everything else stays the same :?

That's because by default it is set with an onRelease command, same as the hack button.

    The ini look like this:

    "x=togglebehindview | onrelease togglebehindview"

Or something similar.. not sure EXACTLY. Anyways, delete the "| onRelease togglebehindview" part and you can press the key once, stay in behindview, and press it again when you want to go back to first person. However staying in third person for an extended period usually results in getting blinded by the nade when you go to do it anyways. You have to switch in and out of third person again quick to get rid of the blinding effects for some reason.

    o_O wha?

Aiming while in behind view is just about as difficult as if you were on fire.

Well this is one of those things... some people are for it.. some people aren't... and that's the way it's gonna be. :)

I for one am not going to stop using it so call me a cheater if you must. :)

I WILL however say that if you use a key to bind the whole "togglebehindview, switch to nade launcher then switch to rockets on release" crap... that's kind of pushing the boundaries of cheese.

    Just my opinion...

...and didn't we already have this discussion on the forums like twice already in other threads...

..are we really that desperate for topics?

(Oh and I think the rangers are just jealous we can escape the flash because they have to run around with useless flash-resistant goggles on their foreheads all game, :D j/k)
