umm.. robar and psg1 are already in the game silly. Anyway I have a good guess that SOCOM Mk 23 will be next and FiveseveN/P90 after that then the G36c. Of course I could be wrong. :D

I hope that the SOCOM comes soon, I just love .45s! That heavy ass slow bullet hitting someone and tearing up *wipes drool* your insides just *wipes drool* is so awesome.

You should know, you can't really suppress any supersonic weapons (almost all rifles). You can suppress the sound of the weapon firing, but you'll still get the loud supersonic crack of the bullet flying at high speed. The only way you could truely suppress one would be to use subsonic ammo, in which case, you'd usually be better off with an MP5.

I'm really hoping the M249 makes it in soon, as it will add the most to gameplay, in my opinion. We already have 2 pistols, the Desert Eagle and the M9, so there is no immediate need for the SOCOM. We also have 2 Assault Rifles, the M16 and the Sig 551, so there is no immediate need for the Famas. And again, we have the AKMSU and MP5 to fill the SMG spots, so there is no immediate need for the FN P90. How many LMGs are there in Infiltration? Zero.

    true

yeah, true, very true, but isn't there that feeling of happiness when 'hmmm....what weapon shall i take?' kind of thing? i just loved that feeling when i was playing R6 NATO3. though when you DO get too many weapons, too many of them are alike. weapons with distinguishable pros and cons are nice.
e.g FAMAS-G2 - accurate but eats ammo very fast
HK G3 - accurate but slow rate of fire
M60 - powerful but uncotrollable on full
    auto.

A projetile the size of a, errr, projetile would not be very loud would it

i mean in relation its tiny, how could it be so loud that it makes a supperor ineffectent?

anyhoo, the FiveseveN and FN P90, i blevie, will only add to gameplay when body armour is added, and it stands now i think that a LMG would be best, im with you Snipy

Quote from Shakken in another post:

So, yes, they do generate quite alot of noise. But as Shakken also said in the post, the noise is non-directional, meaning the person who hears it can't use it to locate you.

Shakken is correct in his data but wrong in his assumption. The bullet flight noise may be very loud, but it is very short-lived. It is also at its loudest when it passes near the observer, which gives no indication of direction.

5.56mm weapons like the M4 are suppressed, often by SWAT teams wanting more power than a MP5 without eardrum-busting noise levels. At close range, the bullet flight noise is undetectable by the human ear.

50-caliber rifles are also suppressed, much to the comfort of all those around.

Also, adding a suppressor to a rifle may not be for the primary purpose of hiding the shot. Let's face it, even if the rifle is completely silent, there is still the fact that people around us are dropping like flies with smacking noises as the bullets hit.
    Suppressors:
    1) reduce hearing damage to the shooter. Some armies use very low-volume suppressors called moderators to reduce the long-term effects of exposure to gunfire on the training range.
    2) reduce muzzle blast. For snipers, the gasses following the bullet kick up dust and move foliage. For a large 30- or 50-caliber rifle, this may look like a smoke grenade on a dry day.
    3) reduce recoil. The propellant gases striking the baffles have a slight effect of "dragging" the rifle forward, countering recoil. Some tests in Finland identifed suppressors as being more effective than traditional muzzle brakes.
    4) reduce muzzle flash as source of ignition. In industrial environments, a SWAT team could set off an explosion accidentally with gunfire. Special suppressors and ammo are available, because, let's face it, the bad guys won't care if the whole place goes up, and may actually want it to.
    5) Suppressors also capture and contain the lead particles and combustion residue inside themselves, reducing airborne contaminants. Germany discovered that the muzzle device on the AK-74's they aquired from East Germany actually directed lead and mercury particles from the primer into the shooter's face.

    Good description Col. Sanders.

I'm pretty sure the P90 (or was it the Uzi? I can't remember) will be next, as they were originally hoping to have it added to 2.85, but couldn't get it done in time.

I'd like to see the SOCOM and G11 very soon however, as they are my two most eagerly awaited guns.

The M249 SAW would be a great addition to the game, but the team is still trying to get it right, as they want the belt feed to work (and be visible) in a realistic manner.
