    So for any of you that saw our old news post about Tactical Ops: Crossfire being released today, you may have downloaded the pre-release package. They have released the key to open these packages, and it is:
    Please enjoy the mod, and let us know your thoughts in the Comments!

    Still installing right now, but good lord, who decided this was a good process?

    A 600 MB tar.gz file + setup executable in a 600 MB zip file in a passworded 600 MB rar file which was only accessible by finding a torrent link after scavenging through two week old news? That's a bit harsh for a bit of background music during the installation process...

    I'll try to remember to edit with comments on the game itself later, but I have to say I'm not a huge fan of realism/modern-era games so my opinion might be a bit biased.

    I've got it and the key. Now all I have to do is find some spare time to install this bad boy and play with it.

    Woohoo! It's finally here.

    I played it all day today, and i must say im very impressed!

    The game feels very good... the guns are all fun, and seemed balanced well. The pace of the game is very smooth. I d have to say the best part of the mod is the map, though... a couple absolutely brilliant maps, and the rest are very solid, fun maps... something i think most semi-realism games/mods have been missing.

    Might wanna post a link to the TO website in that news post - just makes it easier for the reader rather than googling or searching the news archives. I downloaded the prerelease a week or two ago but must have deleted it when clearing out my downloads folder; that's what happens when you forget it's there. Time to redownload 600 megs...just terrific :)

    You know what would be even easier? A non-passworded release.

    You don't need a password anymore, download and install TO, then the Hotfix and your ready to go. I played it yesterday, it's pretty solid, nice touches here and there, no painful bugs. Though I still like Counterstrike way better.

    Other than that...

    Just played it, looks pretty good, other than the fact that it doesn't allow you to set weapon hand, so it seems to use whatever you have in UT2004. Which for me is hidden. Which is definitly not what I want in TO...

    lol I had the exact same problem... my weapons were all gone because of my UT2004ini setting set to 'none'
    And similarly I don't play TO with hidden weapons.

    To remedy this, go to the TOCuser.ini and change:

    Handedness=1.000000
