In order to have the suspension rotate in the correct direction, the joint must be placed t the rotational center of that suspension piece. On the race semi I had suspension somewhat like the monster trucks, and the front suspension acted like one solid piece, pivoting from the center of the truck. To make that work I had to use a single joint to animate the from suspension, and a single joint to animate the rear. It worked great for making the suspension animate realistically, but bad for handling.
