The "@planetunreal.com" enigma

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

My site, The Redeemer, was hosted by PlanetUnreal. I have an @planetunreal address now (Gringle@planetunreal.com). It gets forwarded to me, but when I reply to someone, I'm pretty sure it gives the "@aol.com" ending to my name. Is there a way to work around this, anyone with an @PU address?

yes, if you have a PC, you go into Outlook Express and under tools icon there is a 'accounts' link, click that and set up your new addy as your @pu.com addy, use your same pop3 and smtp to send and recieve (youre alread recieving the mail) and that should be it. Now youll have two addys the @pu and the @aol.com one, there will be a pulldown menu thatll let you choose.

As a follow up, just go in to your mail client. Set your reply-to address to be @planetunreal.com. You can also set your email address to be @planetunreal.com, if you like. It'll still check the @aol pop box, but your emails will go out with the header indicating to respond to the @planetunreal.com forward box, which will (of course) automatically forward it to your @aol pop box, safe and snug for your later retrieval.
