Will the new skeletal system uptade on the famas make it look any different (aside from the attachments)? If so, could we please get a few ingame shots of it next update? Thank you

I believe the FAMAS needs to be skinned and that's it.

The skeletal animation system will just affect its and your hand /armanimations I suppose, since it doesn't alter the look of a model.

    alittle o/t

The P90 is the gun that needs to be re-skinned most.

The FAMAS has a great skin, look at the renderings.. it's the UT engines fault it looks like that ingame.

Unless attachments are added, the new animations will probably look exactly the same as the old ones, they just used a different method to make them work.

I've been thinking though.. if UT's skeletal animation system can whack a scope on a gun, why not pull the gun into several pieces and give them individual skins? Each part could have a 256x256 skin rather than wrapping a 256x256 skin over the whole gun..

I would have to guess that each one would count as a separate object/mesh. I don't know how that would affect performance or modeling.

Its a pretty good idea though. The guns would rock.........ROCK!

Would be nice to have a slightly better resolution on the 3rd person guns too :D

You're right. If it didn't hit the lower end users too much it sounds like a good workaround for the resolution issue.

(Not meant to be cocky) Whats your definition of lower end users? And how many do you think we still have that would be effected by it?

How about anyone that uses less than 1024x768 & 16-bit color with an average 25 frames/second ?

I'd like to see more pictures of the machinegun in 'aimed' position :)
With the new attachments (suppressor & ACOG?) it sounds like the FA MAS is going to replace the SIG as my favourite weapon :D

dapngwnman, I said n00b, not newbie, there's a difference. Oh, and I will call you one if you like to tear around levels with your FA MAS by your hip, that's what CS is for

Is there still alot of people who don't have those resoultions and framerates - even today?

I mean UT came out........I guess 2 years ago (maybe 3, i didn't get it when it came out, so I can't remember)......so I figure (apparently ignorantly ;) ) that most people have upgraded a little since then. Especially since the minimum requirements for UT was a 233 Mhz, 16 MB's RAM, and a 8-Bit graphics card (or whatever). My old 366, 64 MB RAM, 16 Meg Diamond Stealth POS did quite well for itself. I would think that people have got slightly better comps than that 2 years later. But then again I might assume to much, I do live in a fairly nice neighbourhood (West Vancouver - but not the rich-ass part with all those million dollar homes....bastards) and perhaps I am spoiled :p
