The hard rules of the XMP forum

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.
This is how things are going to work from now on.

If someone posts a serious thread, it will stay on topic. If you post something irrelivant to the post, it will be deleted. If you make a stupid thread and has nothing of importance, then it will be safe from being deleted. But if someone post an inapropriate post, it will be deleted.

Don't bring back old threads just to say "LOLZ joo hax". It will be deleted, and the thread will be locked. If you do this more than two times, you get to be RO'd (read-only) for a day or so. If you do it again, you get a RO for a week. Third time is your lucky draw. RO for 3 weeks. Each offense will be one week added.

This is all I ask of you guys. I could be a total nazi mod and just delete every post that has no relivance to XMP, but I understand this community more than other mods and most people. Which is why I feel I'm being pretty soft as far as it goes.

Now with the new master server up, I would hate for new people to come in here and see nothing but spam and be afraid to ask a question. I'm pretty sure we all agree that more people for XMP is better.

So just a summary, I don't mind you guys spamming your own threads of meaninglessness. But please try to keep good threads with meaning clean.

With this, I hope everyone likes me as a mod, and I will try to do my best to help everyone here in anyway that I can.

Once again, a spam section for us would greatly decrease the amout of spam in this section. Also, would it be at all possible for you to un-delete Covet's "yarr" thread and the "IAS is recruiting" thread? They work as their own spam section.

Yes indeed. A forum needs spam-sinks so that spam doesn't wander into serious threads ~ although good modding can go some way towards combatting that.

Remember: the devil makes work for idle n00bs.

If the xmp community went there, they would all be banned within the first day/week.

Actually, the first thing I did when I had mod powers was to move all the OT threads in here to the OT forum. The OT crowd didn't find it too amusing.

That's because YOU deleted it.

We need our own OT fourm, because we all are tightly enough knit that if the others were to view it and post their useless crap in it they would be raped in seconds.

You should rather feel lucky that this forum has been kept open period. It is a main BU forum, not just a hosted forum. You should also feel lucky that the general rules of BuF have pretty much been overlooked here, for that same reason.
