    The final thread on setting up your GeForce for OpenGL sweetness...sticky plz

    First of I would like to say that running Inf in OpenGL will increase system performance slightly as opposed to D3D in 32 bit. Opposed to D3d 16 bit, OpenGL in 32 bit is slightly havier to run, but it looks a 1000 times better!

    To set it up:

    1) First of dl the latest OpenGL.dll from here:http://unreal.epicgames.com/ and place it in your UnrealTournament/system dir

    2) Edit your Infiltration.ini under the head '[OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice]' so it will look this:

    RefreshRate=60 <------ IMPORTANT set this to your monitor refreshrate
    DetailTextures=1
    UseTrilinear=1
    UseS3TC=1
    UseTNT=0
    LODBias=0
    UseMultiTexture=1
    UsePalette=1
    UseAlphaPalette=0
    Translucency=1
    VolumetricLighting=1
    ShinySurfaces=1
    Coronas=1
    HighDetailActors=1
    MaxAnisotropy=0
    AlwaysMipmap=0
    UsePrecache=0
    SupportsLazyTextures=0

    3) Set your desktop to use 32 bit (True Color).

    4) Set Infiltration to use OpenGL/32 bit (True Color).

    5) Enjoy Inf with (almost) no grafical glitches in OpenGL. Especially check your guns, which look awsome now!

    ug....lockups and nasty texture stuff.

    I played with the settings to get it to even load INF...but the textures were all wrong no matter what I did.

    Oh well.

    Well, i just used that renderer and INI editing, and it has improved my graphics on INF signifigantly. And it has also solved my masked textures problems. Nice one Alien.

    Don't get your hopes up concerning the masked textures, those are still a big problem in OpenGL. Nothing the Inf. team can do about, it's a UT bug...
    With these settings, only the railings in Siberia and Kazakhstan have problems.

    Thanx,for the first time I can use 32bit!And Inf looks the best/smoothest its ever looked.
    I had been usind d3d in 16bit.
    Couldn't this Gforce-fix be included in the manual?

    Bugger, you're right Alien. They are masked, but only sometimes. Weird.

    Regarding the black masked textures. I've found something interesting: You can get rid of it by typing flush in the console. (ok, that alone isn't that interesting, but...) How well it works depends on where you are on the map and in which direction you are looking.
    On Sicily I've found a spot (close to the blue player start) in which it always works (on my system).

    http://guerilla.bei.t-online.de/Shot0022.jpg
    That's the spot. Maybe someone could try if he will also get always correctly masked textures on the whole map if he types flush into the console while he is standing in that spot.

    Weirder and weirder. It appears to work for me wherever I stand (Good tip, thanks.) But what is even weirder, is that I only get the masked textures with bots in the game or online :confused: If I go into Sicily alone, the textures are fine. But flush works when they're masked.

    Flushing seems to work in Sicily in most cases, but in Kazakhstan I've yet to see a succesful flush....oh well...it's the only little drawback.

    I also have a place to flush in Kasakhstan. It doesn't fix all textures but the important large railings, so you can see people on the gangways:
    [IMG]

    which is this corner (just so you can find it):
    [IMG]

    As you can see on the second shot, those small railings remain black, but they aren't important for gameplay.

    What's the big difference between D3D and openGL? I don't see any difference in fps...
