I briefly skimmed the roadmap tonight and couldnt really find anything adressing this, so here goes.
ok I sat there, dead as usual in an online game of Inf team standoff, when in a one on one battle one person stopped moving. He might have had to get to the phone quick, started to pee his pants, or was camping like an idiot (radar was on). Well, whatever, he had a strategy. Well, immediately everyone on the opposing team (including a couple of people on their team) started yelling out his location and calling him names and insulting him. Well, it's one thing to insult him (an SOB member was there to tell people to quit it) and another to ruin whatever (misguided) strategy he has simply because you are impatient (he might have dropped a can of freaking soda in his lap, lord only knows! he was a newbie also). I said "no fair, thats cheating!", and kempokiller (or something) said that I havent apparently been around long, since team calling was around since the old days of inf.
huh? Why are dead people talking? This is great, dead people speak from beyond the grave to supply hints. Brilliant. I'm not attacking the team, I'm just kinda pissed at kempo for being impatient and overall a jerk to a guy who obviously didnt know what he was doing. Furthermore I'm unhappy with his snooty attitude torwards me.
At any rate, AQ2 (sorry sorry) makes it so that only dead people can speak to one another and only alive people can speak to one another, since for the most part all dead people have to do is sit and talk to one another. Is anything similar to this planned for inf in the future? I mean, some levels (fulton comes to mind) this is essential, and in an enviorment where you have only one life I think hiding is a damn good idea. Theres nothing wrong with advancing slowly, which is what I do. I've been in a few situations where the last person insisted on sniping, which I admit was frustrating. But in that case, I hand it back. If they refuse to move, so do I. Screw em, they want to play cat and mouse, I'm just not going to come out of my mousehole. The guy can come in and play on my terms, if he wants to play at all.
so whats up? Do dead men talk or do they converse only with their netherealm brethren? Maybe, in intermittent future versions, speech can be disabled if you die period. I dont know, just an idea I really think should be implemented. I'm sure in the final version this was going to be covered, but still just wondering (2.8?))
