strange bug with file extension in default map ...

    Hi guys - found a bug for you

    If your default map includes the .ut2 extension, e.g. DefaultMap="DM-Gael.ut2", then - when the server is empty, the default map switch mechanism is invoked every single time even if the server is currently running that map.

    At first glance this doesnt sound too bad, but if you're running multiple servers on a dedicated box and one or 2 of them are empty, their constant map restarts will affect players on other servers hosted on the same box.

    Additionally, the continuous map restarts cause the server log files to grow unneccessarily.

    Unfortunately we cannot read what you have written as the code does not allow you to do that, so modders rely 100% on Admin entering the correct values to several options.
    When the UT2004 MapSearch function (built in code) searches the folder for a map it leaves out the extension hence returns a false finding, UT2Vote inturn forces what you have entered and the fun begins.
    Theoretically it should not matter whether the extension is there or not but somehow it gets screwed up.
    The following should make no difference although the first one is recommended.
    ucc.exe CTF-Maul?Game=etc......
    or
    ucc.exe CTF-Maul.ut2?Game=etc......

    The other thing is UT2Vote also does not allow certain characters, and a period (dot) is one of them unless its a Classname although it does make a mapname an exception.

    The only thing we can do is strip off any extensions that are present.
