as you know, i am taking the Final Fantasy 7 game, and moving it into story book format.
now i will say that my writing knowledge extends only to the books i have read. so please ignore the spelling/punctuation/gramatical errors.
i am mostly looking for critiques on what i have so far.
what i have so far is too massive(65,000+ words 29 pages) to post all on the board, so a download is needed
before reading it, i must warn you, that some things had to be left out.
random battles for one. my opionion, i would lose intrest in a book FAST if i had to read random battles with nothing that pertained to the story every other page.
bosses: as i write i will need to leave out boss battles that do not advance the story line. (Guard scorpian/aps/etc) however, the battles that do exsist, i have tried to make as interesting as i could. (remember, this is my first attempt and writing any kind of story)
Materia: at first i did not want to include Materia, but upon replaying the game in my head, i realized how important Materia is to the story and that it must be included in order for anything to make any sense at the end. reason i wanted to refrain from adding Materia was that at the time i could not think of a way to integrate the system while keeping the story from getting to wild and not making sense. i did find a way (thank Advent children ) to add it. however, materia will play a small role. just not the massive one it played in the game.
dialogue had to be added/removed. there are parts in the game where while it might make sense at the time, in a story book, with all the added emotion, it just did not fit.
sections of the game also had to be removed. i feel those sections can be covered at a later point in the story.
at this point i have not yet decided to add Yufie or Vincent. neither contribute much to the storyline. if i did have to choose, Vincent would make it in due to his relation to Sephiroth and the Turks.
so...
