    Just want to screw a little bit with everyone's mind. So here is a little insight on what's going on in my projects.

    Demo 1 : An introduction...
    Demo 2 : A nice insight...
    Demo 3 : An even nicer one...:lol:


    Other than that, RT is still floating around while I work mostly on this and on the INFMOD projects. 3 sniper rifles, improved (and hackless) nades.... Hopefully more INFMOD projects will get "revived" and see an end.

    Night vision looks very cool. I'd probably make the FOV smaller by altering the black masking texture, since NODs give you quite the case of tunnel vision.

    Does the night vision allow you to see in places that are pitch black? (e.g. the sewer in Mostar)

    I hope there will be an infared illuminator that comes with the NOD for really dark places that we can turn on or off if we want to be stealthy.

    If you get a flashlight shined at you does the NOD wash-out? Will this be tied into UN's work with flashlight coronas?

    Another feature you could add would be Dim Tracers like the 5.56mm XM996 and 7.62mm M276. They are visible to NOD users but not to the naked eye. http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/munitions/gdt.htm

    What about RT? ;-) Night Vision looks great. But I think Demo3 might be a problem to gameflow...

    What are you going to do? Lure kids with candy from game arcades? Pester your parents and grandparents to buy a PC and get started? Hire students to play? Catch joggers in the park with anesthetization-arrows? Invade homes for aged and keep everybody as hostage until they start playing? :D

    I'm in the process of doing the same ;)

    Anyway you hopefully succeed. Maybe we should have a fixed DTAS day a week... could be a start.

    This is really an early alpha version of the night vision. There are a lot of stuff I want to do. Blinding from lights, staturation from flashbangs and other nice things.

    Dim tracers are going to be in real targets. Not in this modification as I do not wish to work on to ballistic modification at the same time, for obvious reasons.

    But RT ´s release is going to be postponned and come along w/ Wp1.3 or i´t´s still going to make it before Wp1.3??? (BTW, is TAVOR or the UMP among these "revived" projects??? {8>
    Finally will have NVGs... INF got the XXI century warfare... somebody said Cyphers??? Around corner shooting??? EMP grenades?

    The only EMP producing device I know off that is used by the military is a thermonuclear device. A bit overkill for the small maps we have. Also, I'm not sure what you want to disrupt with an EMP... shoot an EMP at me, i'll laugh then get pissed because my watch doesn't work anymore and I'll shoot a few bullets at you. Game over.

    I don't know if it's possible - but the fire should be green as well. It would also be nice if the fire actually created a glare...

    Are you making a model for it, or is this just something that everybody can do?

    Looks nice so far - let me know when you want to test. And if you need a sound effect for it - I can record my NVGs. I love that high-pitched static sound.

    About the FOV - I suppose you should make it a little bit less than what you normally see in INF. Just remember that what we see in INF currently, isn't far from your FOV with NVGs in real life - since the monitor doesn't really allow for proper peripheral vision.

    Now, if somebody could make a mutator to give us brass shell-casings...INF would be a whole lot prettier...


    Also, you might want to post a warning about the third link...heh...

    Another problem with Nods, is depth perception. But I dont know if you can really change that in game. After you start wearing them, things start to look 2 dimensional.

    That would require redoing and replacing every textures. Possible. Long. Textures that might be worth replacing:

    - explosions
    - laser dots (in progess)
    - fire


    There will be no 3rd person model. But a pickup/Inventory model will be needed. I am no modeller (i can model but i suck at it) so if someone wants to go ahead and do so... please.

    Yes please. Those I have do not make any sound other than the swich :p


    You mean just like when you look at a monitor? I wonder how I could implement that in game o_O :lol:

    I know working on this stuff must be more distracting than fixing bugs on RT, but please please don't forget about RT !
    Anyway, looks very good so far.

    OT : don, nuke, i was thinking the same. Maybe wait for the next RT, and then organize something.

    Well i'll have less time to work on these toys as I really need to finish my master and my portuguese course is difficult as hell... but I did not forget RT. I will try to release a stable version asap. That way people will be able to start help me identifying the hit locations using the developement tools I have made.

    sounds good so far. this and the conglomera realistic mutator about weapons ( taking it where IWE stopped), keep my interest. and of course wp 1.3 .

    when everything is here, we might make a dtas server and organise games.

    Just a little note so you understand how this will be organised...

    This will be an inventory equipement item. You will need to put it in your loadouts. To have it, you will require an helmet. Also, you will not be able to use with :

    - definately not with any ACOG
    - definately not with any scopes
    - perhaps not with integrated rifle optics (XM8, HK36)

    On the other hand, I might want to do an optional NV scope for the M14DMR/M16A4/M4A1, but not with the current weapon pack. (future project, once the night vision is finished and stable).

    There´s an israeli equipment designed to shoot around corners without exposing the shooter... basically it´s a mechanic arm, that folds to L/R with a camera and a handgun attached to it (in the pictures I saw, was a Glock, but it may be adjustable to any handgun, perhaps MP7 PDW as well...), so the user can aim safely through a LCD monitor!
    It could be somewhat unconfortable to shoot it otherwise than prone...{=)

    and I was just kidding about the EMP grenades... but Cyphers UCAV would be helpfull...{;)P

    M14MDR is one of the new guns... could someone name the others??? (any chance VSS Vintorez be one of the 3 brand new sniper rifles???)
