I don't know if this idea has been suggested before (didn't see any previous post), but is it possible to play solo vs. team (bots or humans) in UT (and INF)?

The idea came to me while I was playing the Deus Ex demo. While it is a good game, it tends to shy away from being a pure shooter by limiting ammo (especially for the 30.06 sniper rifle) and stressing stealth. I kept thinking how sweet it would be if I could play INF this way, solo vs. a team of bots (taking them down one at a time with the Robar). This would work great with Assault maps, and it would add yet another dimension to an already outstanding mod.

I know there are a couple of single player mods for UT (Blitzkeig 1941 and Hunters Kingdom) and there's games like SOF, but I play INF 2.75 so much, I would love to see sometype solo play. Maybe something that could be inplemented in a later build...

I believe you can set this up already in UT- just manually set which team the bots are on, and make sure to uncheck the balance teams option in the practice game menu- I think that'll work.

Just remember that Inf is based on the team concept /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Yeah, I love playing botmatches this way (don't worry Warren, online I'm a 100% team player, I just need my fix of Schwarzenegger-style Commando action every once in a while /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif ). I do as Warren describes above, with the addition of making sure my player team setting is opposite the bots' (or it'll be a pretty boring match), and also unchecking the "Random Order" box, so if you choose say 4 bots to fight, you only have to set the first 4 bots to the opposite team, rather than all 32 bots or however many there are.

Have fun!

I set up the bots and ran it, doesn't play to well on Assault (the bots tend to wait for you at the current objective) but its pretty sweet on Team Deathmatch (I've been playing this way on T. Ahlen's Sniper Alley map).

I agree INF is best in team mode, but like Alpha said, sometimes its cool to go Commando!

BTW, I think its cool that the guys who are putting out this awesome mod take the time to answer questions/help players get the most out of the game (in this case it was a general UT answer). Thanks.
