I didn’t drive through any deep water, unless you call 3 inches deep, but the humidity or water splashing finally wiped out a bad coil on my car, I think. Someone worked on my car before I owned it and they cross-threaded a sparkplug. I decided to leave it in, but a couple months ago, my car started breaking up when I tried to accelerate moderately. I thought it might be that plug, but I knew my plug wires needed replaced, so I tired that first.

The wires didn’t help, but before I had a chance to check out the car, it fixed itself. Well, I’m trying to get on the interstate today and the car starts bucking again and acting up. Only this time the car develops a miss that won’t go away. I brought it back home and checked it out and I have no spark going to my #2 cylinder. The plug wire is secure to the coil and the wire is good, so I imagine the coil was split open somewhat and the moisture finally carbon tracked enough to short part of it out. I'll know more Monday when I go to fix it.

Those coils are down behind the block and I’ve seen quite a few go bad. I think water gets on them and takes them out. I’m going to get a big baggy for my engine to protect it from now on.
